It refers to the area within the original old walled city built by the Romans around AD50. This, the oldest part of London, stretches from Temple and Fleet Street in the west to Aldgate and the Tower of London in the east, from Smithfield and the Barbican in the north to the River Thames in the south.
This small area of just over one square mile is the smallest ceremonial county and a thriving business centre. The City embodies a mix of tradition and change; it is the most historic part of London, yet also the most modern; a kingdom of its own with many customs, traditions and pomp and ceremony preserved for centuries mixing easily with modern life. It is a business and financial centre with beautiful churches and tranquil green spaces where Roman ruins, medieval timber buildings, Tudor and Georgian houses sit next to iconic towering skyscrapers."

It was like a walk through the city for me,and what the book didn't show I found on the net to supplement the photos in the book.
I never knew there was a restaurant on the top floor of the Gherkin until I read this book.I learn something everyday it seems.Brizdaz (Darren)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16218154629850982033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3569682519423498805.post-62783111841042166032013-11-13T15:16:44.853+00:002013-11-13T15:16:44.853+00:00Look forward to reading your sync!Look forward to reading your sync!Mike Perryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02149847109691591945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3569682519423498805.post-25641629281672323232013-11-13T15:15:52.790+00:002013-11-13T15:15:52.790+00:00That's life! That's life!Mike Perryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02149847109691591945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3569682519423498805.post-27617915029867432602013-11-13T15:15:33.973+00:002013-11-13T15:15:33.973+00:00My neighbour's letter blew me away, it was one...My neighbour's letter blew me away, it was one of 'those' moments.Mike Perryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02149847109691591945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3569682519423498805.post-40659543788229189012013-11-13T15:14:11.759+00:002013-11-13T15:14:11.759+00:00Wish I was magnetic for money!Wish I was magnetic for money!Mike Perryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02149847109691591945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3569682519423498805.post-83226125210161364572013-11-13T09:14:16.160+00:002013-11-13T09:14:16.160+00:00I don't know why that last sentence of mine ab...I don't know why that last sentence of mine above is spaced out like that,as I didn't write it like that.Weird.Brizdaz (Darren)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16218154629850982033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3569682519423498805.post-78608894538639037342013-11-13T09:12:01.390+00:002013-11-13T09:12:01.390+00:00I think I've just topped you Mike.I have had t...I think I've just topped you Mike.I have had the most mind boggling sync in my life so far to date, that probably tops all my previous syncs I have written before.
I'm writing the post now and while it seems as unbelievable as Jung's scarab sync,I think mine beats Jung's as well, under the circumstances.Brizdaz (Darren)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16218154629850982033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3569682519423498805.post-19052593897304413802013-11-12T18:44:06.716+00:002013-11-12T18:44:06.716+00:00Fascinating on every level!Fascinating on every level!therese patrick, authorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14624202282411832436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3569682519423498805.post-46754634611301254132013-11-12T15:17:28.637+00:002013-11-12T15:17:28.637+00:00That's a stunning synchro!
