How The Earth Has Sent Life To Mars And Jupiter's Moons

Mars

It's often said that an asteroid or meteor crashing into Earth wiped out the dinosaurs - but it might also have done something much more. Researchers now claim that the collision may have also sent rocks to Mars and Jupiter's moons - and these could well have contained life.

The research was undertaken at Penn State University and the results were published in the journal Astrophysics.

The lead author, Rachel Worth, said, "We find that rock capable of carrying life has likely transferred from both Earth and Mars to all of the terrestrial planets in the solar system and Jupiter."

She continued by saying, "Even using conservative, realistic estimates ... it's still possible that organisms could be swimming around out there in the oceans of Europa [Jupiter's moon]. I'd be surprised if life hasn't gotten to Mars ... It seems reasonable that at some point some Earth organisms made it."

It is estimated that the Chicxulub meteor, which brought about the demise of the dinosaurs, sent 70 billion kilograms of rock into space - some of which may have contained 'life'.

The full research findings can be found in an eleven page pdf format Seeding Life on the Moons of the Outer Planets via Lithopanspermia

To quote from the research paper:

It is known that rock can be exchanged between planets; therefore, if life can survive the transfer, it is probable that life from Earth has already been brought to other planets. Also, it is theorized that Mars may have been habitable during the Noachian period, when the young planet is thought to have been warm and wet.

Of course, if the research is correct, rocks from other planets may also have reached Earth from other planets. And the theory that there was once life on Mars, prior to life on Earth, is also possible.

As infinitum
Once you start thinking about this the possibilities are mind boggling - but it still doesn't answer from where the very first life originated. This is why it's easier to say life was created by a God - but then, as I asked naively as a child - who created God? Another God? And so on.

It's a bit like those Russian Dolls I mentioned in a previous post - you open up one and there's another inside. You solve one question and this leads to another - ad infinitum. Or maybe you eventually arrive back to where you started, there is no beginning or end..

Memories Of The Future

The hand of God

When I was about 14 or 15 I had this idea that all of us would eventually become Gods. We would each be given a planet to oversee with a population designed as we thought fit. I can also remember standing over a small ant nest and realising that, like God, I could wipe out a few of the ants or even most of the colony by simply stamping on them. This, in a way, was influenced by the old fashioned idea of God, where he could bring about terrible consequences if we did anything wrong - or even just on a whim.

When I was imagining these things it was way before computer games where such things are possible.

As I see it, in days gone by, there was a fear of God because it kept us all in line. This in many ways completely opposes the teachings of Jesus and love and forgiveness. The Old and New Testaments of the Bible do tend to contradict each other at times.

I feel that the Old Testament God may be a misunderstanding of the idea of karma, - whereas Jesus teaches about what we reap is what we have sown - a truer version of karma.

At times it is difficult to understand the unfairness of life, but problems are a means or opportunity to overcome. We maybe should think of our lives as being long term, and not just 70, 80 or 90 years. The idea of a resurrection being based on the actions of one short life, and the conditions we are born into, is unrealistic and would be unjust.

Resurrection surely must be an opportunity for us to start again and is part of a constant state of a surviving spirit, soul or whatever you may wish to call this. We assume and discard many bodies with the essence of life flowing from one on to another.

We therefore refine our future bodies and circumstances by the actions of our current lives here on Earth. Our lives are a spiral of continuity which we gradually ascend.

Something I read recently by RP Beesley was:

"The Spirit is the true self, this is our eternal body. That it will grow, expand in wisdom and knowledge, become strong resilient, courageous and deep in understanding is the purpose of it's being, thus to become builders, teachers, skilled artisans of creation.

As the Kingdoms grow other worlds are still in the making, so these souls and spirits help fashion and to dwell in these future realms - brave new worlds invested in the consciousness of God."

So maybe I was sort of on the right track when a young teenager after all!

Enjoy The Spirit Ride To The Pure White Light

Pure white light

There are many descriptions as to what the spirit may be. Here is one such explanation by RP Beesley, see what you think.

"The spirit is a very splendid thing, composed in miniature of the essence of all creations, known and unknown; concealed splendour perhaps at this stage, but nevertheless its future assured.

All wisdom, knowledge and comprehendings are stored away in the holy essence.  This explains the need for its various clothings, its various bodies (astral, etheric, mental etc.) to protect itself from the course material of outer space, and which are means by which it can in part project itself into denser matter.

Mind over matter is not a new phrase, but with the comprehension of spirit it makes the eventual discipline, the overcoming, the final achievement more possible.

As God consciousness expands so are new worlds formed.  We are the people of these new worlds - pure spirit, pure essence of God; what a privilege!"

And our ultimate goal? These are Beesley's thoughts:

"We shall shed the soul form, so that pure mind (pure consciousness) and pure spirit are completely united in cosmic intelligence and Form Divine; this we call the place of Pure White Light - something which will take many eons to achieve - yet a heavenly goal we should all seek to attain.

I guess it will take us an extremely long time before we can be fully united with God- for want of a better word. Creation as we know it has barely started, so there's a lengthy journey ahead of us!

It might be an idea to try and enjoy the ride.

There May be Alien Life Forms In The Earth's Atmosphere

Asteroid
It is generally thought that the first forms of life appeared on earth some 3.8 billion years ago. Many religious traditionalists, of course, may well disagree. But how life started is one of the big debates for mankind.

One theory is that life was brought to earth from somewhere else in the galaxy. Some astrobiologists say that the seeds of life began as microbes carried here, perhaps on an asteroid or comet which then collided with our planet.

Scientists are now about to put this idea to the test. They are about to start a mission to see if any forms of life are surviving on the outer fringes of the earth's atmosphere.

The European Space Agency, along with British scientists, are launching a balloon carrying specialised instruments to search the stratosphere for bacteria and other micro-organisms.

One of the research team, Clara Juanes-Vallejo explained, "There are theories that life on Earth came from space, so we need to know that life can survive the conditions of space for this to be true.

The environment in the stratosphere is very extreme. It can get down to -90 degrees C and is a near vacuum. There is also a lot of harmful radiation as there is not the same level of protection as we get from the atmosphere.

If we know that life can survive in such an extreme environment, then it could also survive in places like Mars or on asteroids.

If we find microorganisms up there, there are a number of ways it could have arrived. It could have come from space itself, or it could be from our own volcanoes that have projected material up there."

It is hoped that microorganisms will be collected and to then establish if these may have arrived from other parts of the galaxy.

All good stuff but it still can't really establish how life began. Okay, it could be proven that life did come to earth originally from somewhere else - but from where? And how did life start in that particular part of the galaxy? From what point did anything start, or maybe there was never a beginning ... we simply exist.

There are so many questions and beliefs. It will be interesting though to hear what the scientists come up with.
