Vintage images again from my Google+ Pages. The one above is from a very old picture, about 1875 and he has quite a scary appearance. But I also noticed one of
Anne Kennedy's posts - the laundry advert below.
When you put the two photos side by side there is a certain connection ...
Next is the photo of some Oxford Bags, trousers created by Oxford uni students back in the 1920s. It's all in the width seemingly.
And finally two postcards illustrated by Mabel Lucie Attwell.

These are a riot!
ReplyDeleteThat top combo was scary! 1920's pants remind me of the bell bottoms of the late 60-70's.
ReplyDeleteOh if I had the little girl's address, I'd do right and write her - so sweet!
I remember flared trousers, as we called them. Never really liked them but still wore them. Fashion goes in circles.
DeleteYup, I would write her too. Cute pictures those. I am so glad those Oxford Bags had gone before I was around to see them. Just received a pic with my mother on, she had a Marcel Wave. Long way back.
ReplyDeleteIt's amusing to look back at fashions. I look at some of the stuff I once wore with amazement - didn't I have any good taste!!??
