The Coincidence Of Emily Giving Her Idol A Lift To His Own Show

Emily Kraus had been a Dave Matthews fan for as long as she could remember and was on her way to one of his gigs at the Hersheypark Stadium, Pennsylvania. She was with her boyfriend and they were running a little late hoping they wouldn't miss any of the show.

Then they spotted a man standing by the road who looked strangely familiar. Surely it couldn't be. But it was - it was Dave Matthews! Needless to say they pulled over.

It seems that Dave had gone out on his bicycle for a pre-show ride and his back tyre had blown. He explained, "I did not have a cell phone on the bicycle. So I thought, 'Sh*t.' And then a nice lady named Emily rode up in a red car, with a bicycle rack on it, and gave me a ride on to the gig."

Quite a coincidence, it was meant to be. If Emily and her boyfriend hadn't have been running late then they wouldn't have seen Dave. Also, as fate would have it, her parents had just recently given her their bike rack. So she could not only transport Dave to his own show but also his bicycle. Funny how life works out at times.

During the show Dave told the audience what had happened and, to Emily's delight, mentioned her by name. He also invited the couple for dinner and had arranged front row seats for them for the show.

He signed the concert tickets with the words, "Thanks for the ride."

Emily told CNN, "It was surreal, we couldn't believe it."
