The Frightening Comet As An Orion Inspired UFO

I was reading about a comet sighting from October 1527, seen in Germany, that has been described as frightening and memorable. People continued to write about it for the best part of a hundred years.

I then came across the above image on Chronicon Mirabilium. What struck me was how the picture matched up with the description written in 1678 I had been reading. I also began to wonder if it was a comet - could it have actually been a UFO?

This is part of what I had read:

"... We pass on to its horrible figure. A form of arm that emerged from a flaming cloud, dull rather than bright in colour, half curved, was holding a great sword in its hand; it was bare and menacing, with its point down as though it wanted to strike or pierce not with the blade but with the point; there was a star at its tip, whose glare was terribly bright, and two other, less bright stars appeared beside this one, one on each side of it and slightly above it.

Even more terrifying was that one could see a large number of men's heads, as if they had been cut off, whose appearance was extremely hideous; they had long black beards and long hair standing on end: they appeared on both sides of this bare sword over quite a large area ...

... And indeed this comet was followed by several calamities, and the whole of Europe felts its effects intensely, as it was almost bathed in human blood ..."

It then goes on to list those 'calamities' which followed in various European countries.

There is a further description of the 1572 comet:

"In the year 1527 the comet was seen with many streaks like long spears, and in among them, many visages and daggers, all coloured in pale red, and in between many enormous flames of bright and fiery hue, and here and there the visages appeared, bearded and hairy in grey as of clouds and as if in flowing water streaked with blood, glittering and sparkling, as if everything were in confusion – the whole hideous of appearance, so that some who had seen it died thereof."

As we look into the past there are numerous examples of 'comets', but because of limited knowledge at the time these would likely have been attributed to a God or something understandable to that age.

What does strike me about the picture are the three stars in a row and the sword. Immediately what springs to mind is Orion's belt and his weapon, picture right.

Perhaps much of what has been recorded as comets and the like, previous to the 1500s, were in fact much more than this. Could they have been UFOs and aliens? All things are possible if we give our imagination free reign!

Today: The Beginning Of The End Of Our Civilisation

Is today the beginning of apocalyptic happenings that will see the end of our civilisation?

I've previously published posts about Orion and how the constellation's belt has been replicated on earth by ancient civilisations at places such as the Hurlers Stone Circles and Thornborough Henge in Yorkshire England.

Why did these ancient civilisations respect Orion? Surely not simply as a calendar, this doesn't ring true.

When digging deeper into the mystery of Orion I came across the theory that the Transit of Venus, as it passes over the constellation of Orion, will signify 'the coming of the end of times'. The book the Orion Prophecy by Patrick Geryl and Gino Ratinckx, for example, believes this to be the case.

June 5th/6th 2012 are therefore significant days as there will be a Transit of Venus. Will this bring about catastrophic earthquakes and tidal waves as predicted by some?

I'm not an astronomer or even an astrologist but this is what was said in the Daily Mail about the Transit of Venus:

"June 5/6 is a significant date because there will be a Transit of Venus.

Although the Sun, Venus and Earth roughly line up every 584 days, the orbits of the Earth and Venus are tilted with respect to one another so Venus usually passes above or below the Sun with respect to the Earth.

A transit takes place only when the three bodies are in line, and this is rare. Transit of Venus occur only in 'pair of pairs' patterns, repeated every 243 years. Two transits take place in December (around the 8th of the month), eight years apart. One hundred and 21 years and six months later two June Transits occur (around June 7th), again eight years apart. After 105 years six months the pattern is repeated.

The first transit in the current 'pair' took place on June 8, 2004, the previous event having been December 6, 1882. The latest transit will take place over June 5th and 6th (2012).

The transit is an exciting time for astrologers, especially as Venus will be transiting the Sun in what is called a retrograde motion - it will appear to be going in the opposite direction of our planet.

Venus began its retrograde on May 15, 2012 and completes it on June 27, 2012."

Okay, but where does that lead us?

Firstly one date to notice in the above is the first transit of June 8, 2004. Six months following this was the dreadful 2004 tsunami and earthquake in the Indian Ocean. Think of this as you will.

Now we move on to what The Orion Prophecy suggests. The authors say an equivalent transit was in 9792BC which was the culmination of a cycle of the Mayan calendar - this, it is claimed, was when Atlantis was destroyed.

The book goes on to say that June 5/6 transit heralds a similar catastrophe which will occur on December 21, 2012 which is when the Mayan calendar completes its current cycle. This is why today June 5th 2012 is the beginning of the 2012 Phenomenon which, some would say, will lead to the end of our civilisation.

Personally I'm more positive. No one can deny that there are changes happening in 2012 already, think simply of the worldwide financial crisis and the uprisings in various countries.

Yes, change is on it's way, but life is change. Nothing stays the same. I'd like to think that 2012 heralds not disaster but a shift or transformation in mankind's outlook both spiritually and physically. The so called time capsule that is the 'Hall of Records' may not be some physical record but something we sense and feel inside.

There could be exciting times ahead. Perhaps that's why the ancients replicated Orion's belt on the ground, they knew something we have forgotten. 2012 may be our wake-up call.

The Orion Bug Lets The Imagination Take Flight

On Monday I published a post Mysterious Links Of The Ancients To Orion And The Afterlife. This is about how the ancient stones of the Hurlers Circles and Thornborough's Three Henges appear to replicate the constellation of Orion's belt. Following this a couple of synchros followed.

I thought no more about Orion but the same day we had visitors, one of them being a small girl called Imogen. She had with her a new toy: a Hexbug or sometimes called an X Bug, or so I'm told. I'd never seen these before but straight away I noticed that on it's back it had the Orion constellation! Quite a coincidence I thought, so I took the photo above of her bug.

These Hexbugs, according to Amazon, are 'robotic creatures that behave like real bugs. Each Nano Series features different colors and graphics' - so there could have been many things on the back of Imogen's bug.

After our visitor's had left I was in my office and for some reason opened a book I have on Egypt. I read about how the Great Pyramid has shafts aligned with stars including Orion. It went on to say:

"Orion was possibly intended as the destination of the king's ba or spirit when he ascended to take his place among the circumpolar stars."

The stars that make up Orion's belt are between 800 and 1400 light years away and are known in Spain and Brazil as 'The Three Marys' and in several other countries as 'The Three Kings'. So there is a somewhat religious feel to the names.

It's interesting that Orion is often associated with Sirius. For example I read:

"The simplest way to find Sirius in the winter sky is to extend an imaginary line eastward along Orion's belt and to extrapolate it to the next group of stars. The brightest star that you approach using this crude but effective method is Sirius."

The Dogon people of West Africa claim that they have knowledge which came from the Nommos who visited earth from the Sirius star system - see my post Knowledge Learned From The Fish-like Aliens.

I realise I'm going off on a bit of a tangent, okay several, but maybe, just maybe, there is much more to the Hurlers and the Thornborough Henges than them simply being calenders, as many would have us believe. If we join up some of the dots who knows what picture we could come up with - visitors from far off planets, UFOs, secret knowledge and ... well, all sorts of things if we want to let our imaginations take flight.

Mysterious Links Of The Ancients To Orion And The Afterlife

In my recent post The Mystery Of The Three Hurlers Stone Circles I mentioned that there is a theory that the three circles mirror the belt of the constellation of Orion.

By coincidence I have just come across details of the three Henges at Thornborough, which is something I haven't seen for myself. The photo above is from Geograph.org.uk and is © Tony Newbould.

It is also claimed that Thornborough Henge, Yorkshire, has also been deliberately laid out to mirror Orion’s Belt. See how the middle circle is slightly off centre as is Orion's Belt.

From what I have researched the circles of Hornborugh Henge were constructed around 3000 BC so this would make them older than the Hurlers on Bodmin Moor, Cornwall.

Dr Harding an expert on this sort of thing is quoted as saying, "Thornborough was a sacred landscape, a place of religious worship, and we should try to interpret these astronomical orientations within that context.

This astronomical association was emphasised by the banks of the Henges being coated in brilliant white gypsum. Neolithic people surely felt they were at the centre of the very cosmos as they worshipped the heavens above."

It has also been theorised that the Egyptian pyramids have an alignment with Orion. In the Great Pyramid there are two shafts running from the burial chamber. These are aligned with various stars including the constellation of Orion - which was personified by the Egyptians as the god Sah.

Going back to Hornborough Henge this was an important ritual centre, going back as far as 4000 BC, for the Neolithic residents before the Henges were constructed.

So did different ancient groups of people pick on Orion purely as a calender or is there something much deeper associated with the alignments?  For example, the Egyptians associated the god Osiris with Orion.

Osiris is/was god of the dead and the Afterlife - and also of rebirth and fertility. Is this a possible connection?

And just to throw in one more thing, this time about the Hurlers, these just happen to be on what it known as St. Michael's Ley Line.

I have no real answers as yet! But I feel there is something that the experts are missing. Perhaps a Time Machine would help!
