Perfect Peace

Perfect Peace Neustift Austria

As a Sunday Thought the following is from my cuttings file from around 30 years ago.

The writer, Dr K.M.P Mohamed Cassim, is the founder of the Perfect Peace Lodge in Sri Lanka and by 'coincidence' I came across an interview with her on the School of Metaphysics website.

"The mystical teachings of Jesus are fundamentally and essentially similar to the teachings of other great masters, saints and mystics.

The correct method of meditation is beautifully stated in the Bible as Be still and know that I am God, which means one should keep the mind undisturbed emotionally under all circumstances and maintain the profound state of Perfect Peace with full awareness of the Absolute Reality which alone exists eternally.

The process of divine healing is purely a spontaneous act which takes place quietly and sweetly when we are in deep silent meditation in tune with that Cosmic Consciousness of Divinity. The healing aspect of prayer can be conceived not by mere intellectual ability but through the communion with the Supreme Power which operates full of spiritual magnetism."

Food For Thought: Peas Or Peace

London M25 sign Give Peas A Chance

I was reminded of the above graffiti, which is on a bridge over the M25. This is the motorway that circles greater London. The 'artist' must be a John Lennon enthusiast, though perhaps not too hot educationally. The slogan reads: 'GIVE PEAS A CHANCE'.

Of course he may have been a vegetarian pleading to give certain vegetables a chance - in this case peas.

Give peas a chance

In these times though it would be good to think that the message 'Give Peace A Chance' as per John Lennon's sketch is still very relevant - and that we should all actually give it a go.

Going back to peas, they also have their fans too.

There is an annual 'Peasenhall Pea Festival' in the English village of Peasenhall, Suffolk which attracts hundreds of visitors every year. They have events such as Pea Shooting, the World Pea Podding Championships and a National Pea Eating competition. In 2012, the Pea Festival had an OlymPEAn theme, celebrating the London 2012 Olympics.

Maybe we should therefore give both peace and peas a chance. Food for thought.

And a poignant final photo. The above post was written a few days ago and in today's newspaper I saw this picture of the young boy, Martin Richard, who was killed at the Boston Marathon. He's holding a peace sign. I think this says it all.

Imagine The Power Of The Heavens

Imagine

I read some strange stuff at times. Recently I've come across something that there isn't much about on the Internet. It's a small booklet called Healing Through the Spirit by Ir-a-qu the Persian Mystic. Nope, never heard of him before either! The last print was back in 1975.

Anyway, this is an extract of some of what 'the Master' has said:

"Man talks of peace. He glimpses the ideal: and great Souls have attempted to put many plans of well being into operation, and it is good that it has been done so.

Yet when men gather together for the purpose of solving world problems, what happens? The National Spirit takes possession, and immediately the outlook is limited. In some (statesmen), the ego expands and desire for power manifests itself - and that which set out to be a fulfilment of plans by the Great Spirit of Universality is destroyed, and conflict is born from these limitations.

When every man is aware of the Love of the Father within him, he does not act as a personality only. He lives and acts as a Power from the Heavens. He sees with the eyes of Love; he hears with understanding, and he speaks the words of Power and Life - creative words - and so brings into being a condition which is the true replica of the Heavenly state."

This got me thinking of, say, politics. In the UK no matter what the current government does or says the opposition will immediately take an opposing view. This seems to happen in most countries where so called democracy exists.

The main objective now, for most political parties, is simply to make sure they get elected next time, rather than do what is right for the country or the world at large. Yes, there will be conflicting views but these have to surely be debated for the general good of all - and not for the power or ego, which the Persian Mystic writes about.

Somehow we have to imagine that there are no countries or differing political parties, neighbourhoods, families and so on. We have to think and do what is genuinely right for everyone - or maybe that is a too simplistic answer.

Black Elk On Peace And At The Door Of Death

Today we have a couple of the sayings and experiences of Black Elk. He was a famous Wichasha Wakan or Medicine Man of the Oglala Lakota (Sioux) and was said to have been at the Battle of Little Big Horn in 1876. He writes about Peace and a Near Death Experience.

Native American symbol"The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes from within the souls of men when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells Wakan-Tanka, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.

This is the real peace, and the others are but reflections of this. The second peace is that which is made between two individuals, and the third is that which is made between two nations. But above all you should understand that there can never be peace between nations until there is first known that true peace which is within the souls of men."

- Black Elk

As a child Black Elk was very sick and near to death. He had a vision, Sioux style, which today we would no doubt describe as a Near Death Experience, NDE.

The following is what he saw at his point of near death:

Sacred hoop of the world"Then I was standing on the highest mountain of them all , and round about beneath me was the whole hoop of the world. And while I stood there I saw more than I can tell and I understood more than I saw; for I was seeing in a sacred manner the shapes of all things in the spirit, and the shape of all shapes as they must live together like one being. And I saw that the sacred hoop of my people was one of many hoops that made one circle, wide as daylight and as starlight, and in the center grew one mighty flowering tree to shelter all the children of one mother and one father. And I saw that it was holy.

I saw ahead the rainbow flaming above the tepee of the Six Grandfathers, built and roofed with cloud and sewed with thongs of lightning; and underneath it were all the wings of the air and under them the animals and men. All these were rejoicing, and thunder was like happy laughter.

As I rode in through the rainbow door, there were cheering voices from all over the universe, and I saw the Six Grandfathers sitting in a row, with their arms held toward me and their hands, palms out; and behind them in the cloud were faces thronging, without number, of the people yet to be."

I find it interesting with NDEs how they are sometimes tailored to the beliefs and perhaps upbringing of the person concerned. It's good to see things from a different perspective.

The Simple Secret Of The Way To World Peace

Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama
"The question of real, lasting world peace concerns human beings, so basic human feelings are also at its roots. Through inner peace, genuine world peace can be achieved.

In this the importance of individual responsibility is quite clear; an atmosphere of peace must first be created within ourselves, then gradually expanded to include our families, our communities, and ultimately the whole planet."
