Two Black Stick Men Sightings - They Are Still Stalking Our World!

Stick Men

Here's a coincidence: two stories in two days from readers about Black Stick Men, one from the USA and the other from the UK. You may recall that I published a post back in March of this year The Black Stick Men Who Stalk Our World At Night. As 'things' supposedly come in threes, wonder if there will be a third experience soon ...

"I don't want my name published as I don't want to be called crazy.

I actually stumbled across your blog because my husband and I were Googling stick men sightings. He has just encountered one while taking our dog out to the bathroom at our apartment complex.

He was walking by the pool area, and it is night mind you, and looked over and saw a tall stick figure of a man who, he said, seemed surprised and took an odd startled stance when he realized he'd been seen.

My husband looked at the stick man for a second and then took off, running as fast as he could to tell me.

He was out of breath and visibly shaken, so we started looking this up and are quickly finding out there are a lot of people who have seen the same.

My husband is definitely not crazy, so I just wanted people to know that this is definitely a real thing."

"We were returning home after a night out, and we had been drinking, but what we saw was nothing to do with alcohol. There were five of us, but three went off in a different direction. This left me and my girlfriend.

It was dark, after midnight, and we passed an open area between houses.

"F***!" said my girlfriend, "Look at that!"

She pointed to the open space where something thin and lollopy looking was coming towards us. Definitely human shaped but much, much taller and very skinny and completely black. I couldn't tell if he was wearing clothes, it looked like an animated stick man. I'm fairly sure he was wearing a hat of some sort.

We started to run away as fast as we could. The man was going to catch us because of his long, skinny stride. He didn't appear to have any facial features. But suddenly he changed direction, almost as if he hadn't seen us at first and headed towards the houses.

My girlfriend was shaking with fright but gradually calmed down once the stick man was moving away from us. I have to admit that I was scared stiff myself.

It all sounds unbelievable but it was as if a cartoon had come to life. I think the man must have been well over 10 feet tall. Whatever he was, looking back, we don't think he meant us any harm."

The Haunting Of The Scary Screaming Skulls

Screaming Skull

There is one category of ghost which appears to be unique to England - the Screaming Skulls.

It's usually the case that these skulls wish to continue living in spirit within some building or house. If there is ever any attempt to remove the skull from the premises then this is when all hell breaks loose. The skulls will protest with screaming, hauntings and poltergeist phenomena.

Some of the Screaming Skulls are those of people who - in days gone by - lost their heads through either execution or murder. Often they request to be buried within the walls of some building, which was meaningful to them prior to their death.

When in situ they are at peace but should they ever be moved or disturbed they will seek their revenge by bringing about some sort of bad luck or death to the culprits. They have also been known to damage the properties concerned.

Screaming skull
One example of this is the story of the Bettiscombe Manor Screaming Skull. If this should be removed the culprit will die within one year.

The Bettiscombe Manor story begins with Azariah Pinney, who had plantations in the West Indies way back in the late 1600s or 1700s. After completing his business overseas Pinney returned to England bringing with him a faithful slave.

The slave contracted tuberculosis. His death wish was to be buried in the West Indies but, because of the cost this would incur, he was buried instead in the local village churchyard. Blood curdling screams were soon heard emanating from the dead slave's grave. At the same time Bettiscombe Manor began to shake and rattle while all sort of misfortunes swamped the village.

The terrified villagers petitioned Pinney to take action. Pinney’s solution was to exhume the body and take it back to rest in the manor attic. This seems to have satisfied the slave.

Over time his body crumbled until all that remained was the skull.

Various attempts to remove the skull from the house have been met with unearthly screams.

Local tradition tells of a ghostly carriage which rattles it's way between Bettiscombe Manor and the churchyard on the anniversary of the death of the slave. This is referred to by villagers as 'the funeral procession of the skull.'

There is a strange postscript to this tale. In 1963 this particular Screaming Skull was examined by a pathologist. It was determined that the skull was actually between 3,000 and 4,000 years old and was of an European woman. Some believe the skull may therefore have originated from an Iron Age ritual site at Pilsdon Pen which is situated near the Manor house.

Screaming skull
Another famous Screaming Skull is known as Dickie. He is said to haunt Tunstead Farm, near Chapel-en-le-Frith. The story goes that Ned Dixon, an ancestor of the farmhouse owners, was murdered within the house and this is his skull.

Dickie, the skull, now functions as a guardian spirit for the farm. If strangers approach farm knockings will be heard.

On one occasion Dickie was stolen and taken to nearby Disley. The noise and racket that followed at both Tunstead Farm and Disley were so loud and unbearable that the thieves willingly returned the skull to its rightful home.

If you should find a skull in your home it might be advisable to let it remain at peace.

The Black Stick Men Who Stalk Our World At Night

Black Stick Man climbing a wall
A Stick Man climbing down apartment block (head first) - see the video below
I've heard of Shadow People and the likes of the Mothman but a Stick Man or a Black Stick Man might be stretching things a touch too far. But, there again, it's often said that anything is possible.

Here's a story / experience that JC sent, thinking it might appeal to me. This supposedly happened to a friend of his. Here we go:

Stick Man
"It was very late at night and me and the girlfriend, Liz, were walking home from a club in the Greater London area. There's a park with lots of trees that is usually closed at night but was open for some reason, so we walked through the gate as it would be a short cut to home.

It was very dark but there was a proper path to follow with trees and bushes either side. We hadn't been through the gate for more than a minute when Liz said, "Did you see that?"

I had seen something that appeared to move ahead of us. The moon was out so I thought it was trees blowing in the wind and making reflections.

"It looks like someone is coming towards us," said Liz holding my arm more tightly.

Whatever it was kept on coming. I could see it, a tall thin man but very skinny. It got taller as it got nearer to us and I started feeling a little scared.

"What the hell is it?" Liz whispered.

I can only describe it as being like a stick man that kids draw. It was black, completely black and was wearing no clothes. It's face was blank except what appeared to be an opening something like a round mouth.

Liz was freaked out but the stick man bounced by us like some sort of cartoon character. It's head turned slightly towards us but it kept on walking, its long, thin legs and arms waving about as it passed.

We started to run. I turned round and the creature had gone but we hurried out of the far gate and kept walking fast until we got home.

We were both scared and locked the door of our flat. I don't know what it was but we weren't on drugs or anything."

Pinch of salt
A stick man! Has to be something to take with a pinch of salt surely.

I did a Google search and there's quite a bit about the Black Stick Man. On the Listverse website, for example, they have a post Top 10 Bizarre Modern Paranormal Phenomena and at number 3 is - yes, the Black Stick Man!

They describe this 'Paranormal Phenomena' as being:

" ... totally black, thin, stick figure drawings, such as teachers would make in kindergarten. They have been reported as between average height to impossibly tall. Their heads are just a black circle with no facial features being discernible. They are totally two dimensional, without any depth. Usually they’ve been sighted walking along roads at night, or at transitional times such as twilight or just before dawn."

Looking through the comments on the Listverse post there's one from Simon Howes, written two years ago. He wrote this about his experience:

"In 1982, when I was a student nurse at Warley Hospital, Brentwood in Essex, England, I encountered a 'stick person' in the grounds of the Hospital as I was walking home one night. It lopped across the roadway having been, seemingly, pressed up against a wall. It stopped when it saw me and raised it's arms in fright and quickly walked off into the undergrowth. It was very tall with very thin, extremely long arms and legs and a very small oval head. Totally black and no obvious clothing. I saw no face even though it emerged very near a street lamp and so was well illuminated. I was terrified and to this day, no-one believes me."

Then on the Above Top Secret forum there's this strange picture, which is said to have come from a "Spanish anonymous image board". Here's the photo.

Black Stick Man

So, I thought I'd have a look on YouTube to see what I could find and this is what I came up with. The scene is in Russia and a stick man like thing can be seen climbing down the apartment building. Only they now call 'him' a Slender Man.

With my pinch of salt still at the ready I did a Slender Man Google search. The first entry is Wikipedia and it does seem that Slender Man is fiction (but this doesn't mean that Black Stick Man also is). This is what they write:

"The Slender Man (also known as Slenderman) is a fictional character that originated as an Internet meme created by Something Awful forums user Victor Surge in 2009. It is depicted as resembling a thin, unnaturally tall man with a blank and usually featureless face, and wearing a black suit. The Slender Man is commonly said to stalk, abduct, or traumatize people, particularly children. The Slender Man is not tied to any particular story, but appears in many disparate works of fiction, mostly composed online."

Going back to the photo of the Black Stick Man I found on the Above Top Secret forum. I thought the following may have been significant because it had the number 67 on the entry!

This is the story:

"Yesterday at 20.30 hrs. just when I was about to leave the office I heard a very strange sharp buzz that came from the outside that made me look to the outside to see what it was about. When I looked in the direction the sound came from I saw a long and very thin shadow with a copper color that after a while of not moving it started walking towards the light.

It was in that moment that I got very scared because I could see clearly that it was not a normal person. It had no face and its body looked like a stick made of one piece. I went looking for my cell phone camera to take a picture of it and to my surprise, when I came back, that thing was higher than the wall of the building and it kept growing and stretching until it reached the second floor windows of the neighboring building. It suddenly jumped up the walls and began to climb up to the roof where I lost sight of it. I kept hearing the buzz for some more seconds until it disappeared completely. I was able to take pictures of it. I have spent the whole night thinking about it but I have no idea what could that be."

There we go. It's easy to chuckle about the likes of real Stick Men roaming the shadows at night - but how often does 'reality' follow fiction? Quite a bit.

Mind how you go ...

The Real Entity Story Of The Exorcist

The Exorcist
Scene from The Exorcist
When a local priest visited the troubled young boy the boy screamed out at him in perfect Latin, "I sacerdos Christi tu scis me esse diabolum," meaning 'O Priest of Christ, you know that I am the Devil.'

Not a very nice thing to say! But the boy, known as Roland Doe, was the basis for the film The Exorcist - which is 40 years old in December.

Roland was an only child brought up in a German-American family in Baltimore, USA. He was close to his Aunt Harriet. She called herself a spiritualist and encouraged Roland to play with a Ouija board.

Harriet died and this was when the 13 year old's troubles began. At first the family heard scratching noises coming from the walls of the family home. The parents put this down to mice but when things started moving by themselves in Roland's bedroom, they realised this was something more than agitated rodents.

The bedroom furniture moved around and objects started flying about. Similar events followed at school where his desk had a life of its own and bumped other desks, once hurting another pupil.

Roland began to have blackouts and became violent. He would babble gibberish sentences.

The local Lutheran church minister suggested the family should contact the Catholic church who knew more about such happenings. It was on the Catholic priest's first visit that Roland screamed out the Latin phrase mentioned.

Exorcisms were attempted at the Georgetown University Hospital. These had to be abandoned after five nights when one of the priests was slashed down the arm with a bed spring causing a permanent injury.

Out of desperation the family moved away to St Louis. By now Roland had an aversion to anything sacred or religious and had begun to speak in a guttural voice. He was moved to the Alexian Brothers Hospital.

Father W Halloran
Two Catholic priests again tried exorcism over four nights. A Father William Bowdern performed the rite while the younger, stronger priest, Father Walter Halloran, held down the writhing boy.

Letters would appear on Roland's skin, in what appeared to be blood. These would spell out Hell, Evil or sometimes even Hello. The boy was asked his name to which he replied, "I will answer to the name of Spite."

Unexpectedly one night Roland suddenly cried out, "Satan, I am St Michael! I command you to leave this body now!" He went limp and then with a final shudder said, "He is gone!"

Roland's troubles were finally over.

In the Exorcist book and film the boy was replaced with a 12 year old girl by author Peter Blatty. He also embellished the story with extra touches such as the girl crawling along the ceiling and her head spinning round.

The Exorcist head spinning
The Exorcist Head Turning
The Exorcist had some movie-goers fainting and even vomiting while others felt too scared to move. It has been described as one of the most disturbing films ever made. To quote Wikipedia:

"It was named the scariest film of all time by Entertainment Weekly and Movies.com and by viewers of AMC in 2006, and was No 3 on Bravo's The 100 Scariest Movie Moments. In 2010, the Library of Congress selected the film to be preserved as part of its National Film Registry. In 2003, it was placed at No 2 in Channel 4's The 100 Greatest Scary Moments in the United Kingdom."

Was Roland really possesed by the devil or some other entity? Father Bowdern was convinced this was the case but some investigators have claimed that Roland Doe was simply a spoiled, disturbed bully who threw deliberate tantrums to get attention or to get out of school.

The Shadow People Who Stalk Our World

Shadow People

I have to admit I don't know much about Shadow People but was reminded of them when I saw the above photo on Pinterest. Catherine G wrote about the photo: "The Parker family visited Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in the month of August 2010 and took this strange photo. They thought nothing of it until they heard the tale of Shadow People on a radio program."

But, as happens in life, I came across another photo said to be of a Shadow Person without really looking for it:

Photo of Shadow People

Very mysterious. So what are these Shadow People? Well, it seems nobody is really sure. The Paranormal Society write:

"Shadow People are not human entities. We don't believe they're ghosts. Don't believe they're demons either. But, on a scale, we'd say Shadow People lean more towards the negative side, especially given the bad feelings we get from the vibes they give off. It's suggested that they're presence means something bad, or that something bad will happen."

So that sounds none too pleasant. Wikipedia describes them thus:

"A shadow person, also known as a shadow figure, shadow being or black mass, is an alleged paranormal entity. Paranormal researcher Heidi Hollis has expressed the belief that shadow people are malevolent supernatural entities."

There is a thread on the subject on the abovetopsecret forum. One gentleman, Em2013, writes:

"I have seen hundreds of shadows with my wife, best friend, and a few others. They are hard to dismiss as a mere coincidence of the darkness, hallucinations caused by paranoia or group lies. Sometimes they come alone, sometimes they come in pairs or as a group. We've seen armies in Canada of these things before and I wish I were kidding as frightening as they are."

Another photo from Pinterest this time from geisterportal. He or she writes about Shadow People, "They have no purpose and don’t seem to be harbingers of any sort" and wonders if they are, "... :from another dimension."

The Shape Of The Universe And Gateways Between Dimensions

The shape of the universe and life

I know other people's dreams are mostly boring but I had a dream of sorts that appeared to continue while I was awake - so I'm going to bore you with it.

The dream was about the shape of the universe and the shape of our lives - which go hand in hand.

My head was first filled with the idea that everything is a circle, and then how this can't be true as it would mean we keep on coming back to exactly where we started - which seems pretty pointless.

So life isn't a circle and probably not some elaborate cycle either, because this would also produce more of the same - again this would serve no real purpose.

It was decided that the Universe - our lives included - is a spiral without a beginning or an end. By spiral I mean more of a spring shape, like the image above. A spring that goes on forever - as do we.

Our current life, as we know it, had an initiation more than a beginning and lasts until our transition as we gradually move along the eternal spiral shape. We don't die. As Emerson said: Every end is a beginning.

Gradually we shift along the spring, coil, spiral or whatever you would call this shape unrestricted by time.

Mayfly
Time is man made but other creatures may have a differing opinions. Take Mayflies, for example, providing they are allowed to have their say. The adults are very short-lived, from a few minutes to a few days, depending on the species, but whose to say if their lives appear any shorter to them than our 70, 80 or 90 years.

But let's get back to our own human lives. The spiral shape of the universe would allow us to journey between dimensions, time zones and so on. It could be the basis of paranormal experiences. Maybe this is what happens when people say they have visited Heaven, or claim they have travelled into a different period of time, or have had some precognitive message - a gateway opens. It might just be a matter of tuning in.

A gateway in the universe

Okay, I know this post is only dream based - though the gateway is my own idea - but it's as good as suggesting that the universe is doughnut shaped. And it's a fun subject to ponder.

Paranormal Happenings Witnessed In Indonesia

Ghost playing piano

A paranormal story today from Indonesia. The only thing I would question is how the writer can possibly be a skeptic when he accepts that the goings on he witnessed really happened. If it wasn't paranormal wonder what it was?!

I have had to edit the story slightly to correct some spellings and grammar.

"Wacky stuff happens in Indonesia.

"I remember reading a serious story in the Jakarta Post in 1991 about an increase in Vampire attacks in Tenggareng. I am a skeptic of all things paranormal but I lived in a haunted house in Pondok Indah through the 90's. Anyone in the area back then will know exactly which one it was, though it has been torn down now.

"After eight years of unexplained and strange things happening, we had a guy come over with his brothers from Sumatra to do a furniture deal.

"One brother starts sweating and turns red and looks like he is about to be sick. We asked him if he is alright. He says that someone died in there - and points to a room.

"This was true, the landlords sister died in the room above the garage. His other brother asks if we want to talk to her spirit.

"Hell yes.

"We go to the room and the guy becomes possessed by the spirit and speaks some dialect that his brother translates. She says she wants the room cleared of all the storage and tells us her thoughts on detailed events in our lives over the last near decade.

"She says she will stop making noises and messing with our possessions if we clear out the room, she wants space.

"We cleared the room and never heard the piano play again at night by itself, or experienced the glass perfume or cologne bottles on our bedside tables move into formations, while we listened in bed to the tapping as they moved - yes, this all actually happened.

"Honestly, I don't believe in ghosts, but this stuff happened."

Was This A Mothman Sighting?

The Mothman

A strange paranormal story today via Shiela about a weird creature who was spotted by two friends. It's very similar to stories told of The Mothman on the Exploring The Unexplained website.

"I was walking in the woods near to where I live with my friend James. This is something we often do.

"We came to a clearing when we saw a dead animal, which we took to be a horse. It was in a terrible mutilated state with it's head almost severed from it's body. We went closer and saw that the animals eyes were gone and two of the legs had been torn off.

"It was upsetting to see this but we kept on with our walk. A few moments later I saw something move to one side of me but as I turned to look whatever it was had disappeared.

"After a few minutes I heard a shrieking noise but James didn't hear anything. I looked behind me where the noise was coming from and I saw the scariest creature I have ever seen or want to see again. It was very tall, maybe 10 feet tall and was completely black other than for two eyes which were red and very large.

"I know that this may appear unbelievable but the creature had two black wings like those of an angel. It said something I didn't understand which was like a different language and then flew away.

"I saw this as clearly as I could see James but he says he saw and heard nothing and that I must have watched too many vampire films. But I did see it and I was shaking with fear. All I wanted to do was to go home. I know I will never walk in the woods again."

Kate Says She Has Sex Regularly With A Ghost

young woman lying sleeping on bed

Regular readers may remember that I have published three posts from Kate about how a ghost wants sex with her. She has sent me another email with an update of what has now happened to her. It seems things have progressed. I have amended her email a little and omitted some content to make it less explicit.

"Kate here, remember me?

I would like to update you on what has happened following the last experience of mine that you published. I know you and your readers may not believe me but it's true and I figure that if it's happened to me and also my aunt it must have happened to others as well.

My ghost now visits me regularly usually on a Wednesday every week. It's mostly the same procedure and I look forward to these visits.

It always starts when I'm sleeping, as I told you last time, but now I do not tell him to go away as I did before. The ghost has sex with me. I enjoy it and am a willing partner. It feels very real and afterwards the ghost I now call Thomas goes away and I go back to sleep.

These aren't dreams as I wake up as soon as he starts to first touch me.

My aunt, who had similar experiences, says it was the same with her and this continued for several months before it suddenly stopped, and the ghost was never seen or felt again.

If it wasn't for my aunt I don't think I would have let it go this far. As it is I now look forward to Wednesdays and prepare for his visit."

So there we go. Having done a little research into the subject it appears that others also claim to have had similar experiences.

Often these visitors - men appear to have them as well as women - are described as incubi and succubi. They are mostly believed to be 'thought forms.'

In the 1500s Paracelsus described them as demons or the 'shades of dead persons' who have carnal intercourse with amorously disposed women and men.

It's said that witches and sorcerers can generate incubi and succubi, or project out of themselves the organisms necessary for conscious enjoyment of sexual pleasure with sleeping human beings.

In the Life of Paracelsus Franz Hartmann writes that ,"...Such imaginary but nevertheless real forms may obtain life from the person by whose imagination they are created, and under certain circumstances they may even become visible and tangible."

It could be that these thought forms are related to poltergeists, who cause violent disturbances, usually in a household which includes an adolescent. It has been suggested that the poltergeist is a dynamic reflex of superfluous sexual energy.

I wouldn't want to define what Kate's visitor actually is, it could well be a ghost or spirit but a thought form is a real possibility. In Medieval Europe, where natural instincts were suppressed by ascetic tendencies, there are stories of lurid happenings with such astral creatures.

Perhaps we sometimes create thought forms - and give them life - without us realising we are doing so. This would be an answer to the cause of many paranormal experiences.

The Mystery Of Wedding Rings Which Disappear And Reappear

Wedding rings which disappear and reappear

It all started last year with my post 333 And A Paranormal Ring Or Perhaps Not about how my wife's wedding ring went missing. Then someone told me their similar story which I made into another post The Ring Which Disappeared And Then Reappeared. This was towards the end of last year.

Now, quite recently, I've had two similar stories about rings disappearing and reappearing by themselves left as comments. I don't know if this is perhaps more common than realised but it does seem to happen without any explanation or reason. I have no answer as to why.

Here are three examples:

Glad I read your blog as I thought I was going mad.

I married thirty years ago and rarely take my wedding ring off my finger, most likely only three or four times during that period.

Last week I got home from my job as usual and went upstairs to change my clothes from my formal work outfit.

After I was dressed again I noticed my wedding ring was missing. Panic set in but I thought I must have somehow pulled it off my finger as I changed my clothes.

I searched everywhere in the bedroom, shook my work clothes and scoured the floor but no ring to be seen anywhere.

I was really in a state as the ring means everything to me as my wonderful husband died last year. I cling to those memories in any way I can.

That night I couldn't relax and felt very tearful. I went to bed and after a lot of tossing and turning fell asleep.

During the night there was a bump like noise, it's the only way I can describe it like someone had knocked something.

As I was awake I went to the bathroom. As I returned to bed I touched my left hand with my right and there was my wedding ring on my wedding finger.

I can't explain how it got there. All I can say is that it went missing and the ring returned by itself.

I told my daughter but she says I must have imagined it. I began to doubt myself but now I realise this has happened to other people too.

~ Dot

I found your post after the same happened to me, I am still baffled by it.

I was sitting at my desk when I happened to look down at my finger and my wedding band was gone. I started to think where it might have fallen off, or had I taken it off. I had been sitting for about two hours, I started to tear the desk apart looking for it. I gave up.

About 15 minutes later, I looked down and there was my ring on my finger. I was shocked, still can not comprehend how it vanished and reappeared.

I totally believe you. It just happened to me in front of the computer as I watching live streaming. My ring on my right hand vanished. I emailed my friend right away since its too late to call her. Then I searched the internet to see if it ever happened to anyone else. I'm kind of weirded out by it.

A Third Of British Homes Are Haunted

Ghost photo

Statistics are often a bit dodgy but here are some thought up, sorry researched, by the AA's Home Emergency Response Service. They are about the paranormal and strange goings on in Britain. Not too sure why they would want to carry out such a survey, but there we go.  All they are quoted as saying is, "Millions of Britons have encountered strange goings on in their home they couldn't explain."

What have the AA discovered:

33% of Brits reported haunting paranormal activity in their home.

People living in the West Midlands, are top for ghosts. 38% believe their home has been haunted. But in the South East only 25% experienced such goings on.

10% of British people say they have had the feeling of being watched.

8% Have felt scared on noticing a room suddenly getting cold.

6% have had electrical appliances turn on and off on their own.

3% say their lights have switched on and off by themselves.

12.5% have heard spooky noises such as footsteps.

Another 12.5% reported that their pets have behaved strangely at times for no apparent reason.

14% of British people have felt a 'supernatural presence'.

Other unexplained activities found by the survey included:

A music box playing on the anniversary of the owner's death.

Newspaper pages turning over by themselves.

People not present when a photo was taken appearing on the negatives.

... and so on.

Not sure what use such statistics are but I suppose it does emphasise that perhaps 'we are not alone ...'

P.S. I'd better point out that the AA stands for Automobile Association as opposed to Alcoholics Anonymous!

The Tickling Ghosts

two elderly sisters - the tickling ghosts

I came across an interview given by author David Conway. He wrote, amongst others, a very informative book called Magic: An Occult Primer which I read in the early 1970s. I still have the book today and, in the post Magic Talisman Attracts Money, I tell of how talismans I made - following David's instructions - attracted lots of money to my wife and myself.

Anyway, in the interview, David talks of an experience he had as a child.

"Every night after my mother put me to bed, two elderly ladies would appear at my bedside.  The taller one would stand back a little, while her companion made a big show of nodding and smiling and blowing kisses in my direction. At some point one of them, usually the taller woman, would lean over and tickle me.

Every evening without fail, thin, bony fingers would reach down and begin the same relentless tickling while I, powerless to stop it, thrashed about in bed.

Throughout it all my tormentor's expression stayed blank, disconcertingly so, with no hint of a smirk or scowl, just a mindless, unflinching resolve.  Apparently my screams could be heard outside in the street.

Night after night my parents would try to persuade me it was all a bad dream, but some weeks later I was taken off to see our elderly family doctor."

David explained to the doctor what he saw:

"I went on to describe them in detail and even provided him with their names, as well as diminutives that they encouraged me to use."

It was recommended that David's bed should be moved to another room. After this the visits stopped and never returned.

Only several years later did he find out what the doctor had told his parents:

"Years earlier, it seems, he (the doctor) had attended two patients in what was now our house, elderly sisters now long dead.  Not only had I described them in remarkable detail - their hair, their clothes, even the consumptive cough of the older woman - but I had given him their names as well as the pet names each used for the other. A mystery he called it."

But was it really such a mystery as David has been quoted as saying, "Reality, as we know it, is more, far more, than what we ordinarily perceive."

Ghosts Caught On Video

This video is purported to have been shot in 'an undisclosed' location in Albany, Georgia by a group of Ghost Hunters. While the recording was being carried out nothing was witnessed by the 'investigators'. It was only on viewing what had been recorded that two ghosts - or whatever - were seen.

There are two supposed ghosts, if you can make them out. The second, which appears to be a young child, is the clearest, to my eyes. I took a still from the video and messed about with the picture but couldn't make the ghost appear any clearer or more distinct. But see what you think - the video is very short, less than one minute, and the actual ghosts are on screen for much less than this.

There is a 'Case File' of this particular Ghost Hunting Expedition on the Just Ghost web site.

333 And A Paranormal Ring Or Perhaps Not

gold ring and the paranormal
With the curtains tightly drawn the room was almost pitch black and all was quiet. Without warning there was a clattering sound as something hit the wooden floor and rolled towards the far wall.

"What on earth was that?" said my wife, suddenly awake.

It had woken me too and as I glanced at the digital clock it read 3:33.

I snapped on my bedside lamp to look around our bedroom.  The noise seemed to have travelled across the room to my side of  our bed. I saw nothing at first until I spotted my wife's wedding ring standing on end near to the window,

"It's your wedding ring," I said, and Karin looked at her finger to make sure.

"How on earth did it get over there?" she asked, not really expecting an answer.

"No idea."

I retrieved the ring, handed it to her and she slid it onto her finger where it usually resides quite happily.

Karin was soon fast asleep again but I kept wondering about what had happened. How could a ring have rolled across the floor and then remain upright, as per the photo? (I took the photo this morning to illustrate the post).

I thought about the number 3, the ring or circle and so on, but nothing of any real significance came to mind and ... I fell asleep.

In the morning my wife said, "I think I know what must have happened. I put some hand cream on before going to bed and must have taken my ring off to do so and left it on the bed cover. It probably got kicked off during the night and rolled across the floor."

Okay, but to roll right across the floor on its edge, at precisely 3:33? I don't know.

I Googled the number 333 and most sources seem to say it represents something similar to:

"333 - The Ascended Masters are near you, desiring you to know that you have their help, love, and companionship. Call upon the Ascended Masters often, especially when you see the number 3 patterns around you. Some of the more famous Ascended Masters include: Jesus, Moses, Mary, Quan Yin, and Yogananda. source

I'll be giving it some more thought. Any interpretations welcome!

Dambusters Dog Whose Ghost Haunts RAF Scampton

Wing Commander Guy Gibson with his 'ghost' dog
The WWII hero, Wing Commander Guy Gibson, was the lead pilot in the Dambuster's mission in 1943. They set off from RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire and his dog, Nigger, who was chocolate-black in colour, was killed just before they set flight. The dog's name was acceptable in England back in the 1940s. How times have changed.

The photo above shows the dog with the Wing Commander who is on the right stroking him.

The Labrador's ghost is said to still be seen guarding his master's old quarters at RAF Scampton. Wing Commander Gibson left instructions, before setting out to bomb the German dams, that his faithful dog should be buried outside of his office.

There have been lots of reported sightings of the dog but a recent, not very clear, photo - see below - shows the dog near a Dambuster's memorial. The photographer claims the dog simply appeared and then disappeared as soon as the picture was taken. Obviously skeptics will say it is simply another black Labrador.

But this got the ghost busters involved to find the ghostly dog - and they believe they have located him. They actually claim to have gone one step beyond and also say they have made contact with Wing Commander Guy Gibson, who died on active service in 1944.

Lead investigator, Paul Drake, insists there is paranormal activity at the RAF base. He is quoted as saying, "One of our investigators felt a cold spot and when we measured it, it was eighteen inches, which is about the height of a dog.

The curator of the museum has told us that he has felt for years that he has had a presence following him and he definitely feels that it is that of a dog."

In the classic 1955 film The Dam Busters the name of the dog was censored when the film was shown on UK television. In the US I believe they dubbed the dog's name to become Trigger.

And a small coincidence: The Dambuster raids took place in 1943, which was also the year the Wing Commander's dog was killed. The Dam Busters film mentioned was voted the 43rd best ever British film.

In his book Ghost Stations Bruce Barrymore Halfpenny writes that the ghost of Nigger has been seen on numerous occasions around RAF Scampton and also around the Dambusters Memorial at Woodhall Spa.

A Moebius Strip Which Made A Ship Disappear

A Moebius Strip
I remember many years ago I was quite intrigued by a Moebius Strip. This is a geometric figure with only one side - as per the example I made earlier in the photo above.

It's not exactly rocket science to make a Moebius Strip as it is simply a strip of paper that has been given one twist with the ends then joined together - but this does only have one side.

If you take a pencil and draw a line down it's centre the line will connect up with where you started - thus proving it has only one side. If you were then to take some scissors, and cut along the pencil line, this would then turn into one large circle (as photo below) - and not two interlinked circles as perhaps might be expected.

A Moebius Strip cut down the centre to create one bigger circle
Okay so what has this got to do with a ship disappearing?

It's sort of linked to the Philadelphia Experiment. This is where, back in 1943, US scientists induced a powerful magnetic field on board a destroyer - in Philadelphia. This supposedly led to the ship becoming invisible. It also affected the crew on board. Some became insane, two burst into flames plus others had severe problems.

If this is fact or fiction nobody knows for sure but, it seems, there has been another version of the Philadelphia Experiment. This time the story comes from a Professor Doru Todericiu who obtained the information from Russian Intelligence about American experiments.

It is alleged that the US were experimenting with a magnetic field in the shape of a Moebius Strip.

According to the story a submarine followed a strong magnetic field in the shape of a Moebius Strip, turning over once in every revolution. A special electronic device was then used to cut the field in two and, at this point, the submarine disappeared from view and appeared in another place.

Most will no doubt write this off as fiction but scientists have investigated magnetic fields even within the field of the paranormal.

Way back in the 1920s the British financed research and a Dr. WE Boyd was convinced that electric currents could increase telepathic powers. He created something called an emanometer. With the help of this equipment high scores were obtained by those taking part with card guessing experiments.

In their book Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain Sheila Ostrander and Lynn Schroeder tell about how Russian scientists have improved telepathic communications when the subjects were surrounded by magnetic fields.

I don't think we should write such things as being stuff and nonsense. When the time is right I'm sure we will find amazing powers attributed to magnetic and similar fields.
