Immortality By Souls And Minds Being Downloaded To Computers

This post may well seem a bit far fetched but I was thinking about how computers are taking over our lives and how reliant we are on them - that's not the far-fetched bit! Then I remembered, goodness knows why, Uri Geller's 'authorised biography' from the early 1970s.

In this book Uri, along with the writer of the biography, supposedly has contact with UFOs. They would chat away with the 'beings' in the vehicles. It seems that the 'beings' were computerised, So the writer, Andrija Puharich asked them:

"With respect to your computerised format, where is the real intelligence behind you?"

They answered:

"The real intelligence behind us are is ourselves. We have passed our souls, bodies, and minds into computers and moved several of millions of light-years backwards towards your time and dimension. In due time we shall receive all material coming back to our main centre which is zoned into a different dimension than yours.

The different dimension lies beyond the so called star, and so called god, so called planet that you call the sun. It is millions of light-years backwards into the dieshold [unknown word] of the ages. That is where we are originally in. The voice [no, not the television show!] that you hear now has been sent many, many billions of light-years ahead of time." Source: Uri by Andrija Puharich

Okay, a load of codswallop  you may say. But, one day, could our souls and minds be downloaded to computers? Immortality, but in a different format! Just think how already we are getting more and more interlinked with computers. Who knows what the future may hold ...

Travelling Our Individual Evolution Trail

It amuses me when I hear of people praying to a God to help them slay the enemy in any conflict. God wouldn't, no couldn't do this because, if we believe in a God, He is the creator of everyone - and we are therefore part of Him.

It's why sects like the Jehovah Witnesses have got it wrong with their views of Armageddon, God wouldn't/couldn't destroy a large section Himself.

Evolution is a spiritual system whereby we gradually realise that we are part of the whole i.e. God, or whatever term you would prefer to call a supreme power or source of life.

Jesus, was/is known as the Son of God. True, because we are all the 'children' of God following an evolution trail at whatever speed, and in any way we choose.

Thinking along these lines I happened to read the following in The Science Of Mind by Ernest Holmes:

"Evolution is the awakening of the soul to a recognition of its unity with the Whole. Material evolution is an effect, not a cause. This reverses the popular belief, declaring that evolution is the result of intelligence, rather than intelligence being the result of evolution."

Holmes goes on to say:

"The aim of evolution is to produce a man, who at the objective point of his own self-determination, may completely manifest the inner life of the spirit. Even the spirit does not seek to control us, it lets us alone to discover ourselves. The most precious thing a man possesses is his own individuality; indeed, this is the only thing he really has or is."

That about sums it up: we are individualised parts of God, therefore immortal. One day, no doubt, we will realise our possible potential.

Just rambling thoughts. Enjoy the evolution trail, most of us probably still have a very long way to travel!

The UFO Which Brought The Raelian Elohim To Earth

I've been looking at various religions and beliefs recently and re-discovered the Raelian Religion, which has a link with UFOs and aliens. I had read about this years ago but felt it too much like Erich von Daniken's early works at that time.

So what is the Raelian's slant on religion?

It was founded by Claude Vorilhon a French journalist who claims to have encountered a UFO in 1973.

The UFO landed and he was told by the occupant that they had come to see him. He was taken aboard the craft for six days and messages were dictated to him. These explained how the Genesis in the Bible is an account of how the Elohim created life on Earth.

Elohim means 'those who came from the sky' but was wrongly translated as God. Elohim is a plural and therefore refers to a multiplicity of extraterrestrial beings. In Genesis 1:26 it states 'Let us make man in our image and likeness'. The important word here being 'our'.

The Elohim divided the 'waters from the waters' with explosions thus creating the first continent. On this they created the animals, vegetation and other life forms. Finally they made man (initially an artificial life form) with use of their advanced knowledge of DNA.

One group of the extraterrestrial creators, called Nephilim in the Bible engaged is sexual relationships with the humans and produced a race of people with superior intelligence. Jesus was created by Mary having sexual union with one of the Elohim.

All well and good and in some ways strangely believable but what is Claude Vorilhon's role in all of this. He is known as Rael to his followers and it's his job to prepare humanity for the arrival of the Elohim on earth. It seems they will come in peace but must be received voluntarily by the human race. So a familiar theme here.

The Elohim purpose for coming to Earth will be to establish a new world government.

This government will only be made up of those whose intelligence is 50% higher than the human average.

To welcome the Elohim the Raelian Religion have to establish an Embassy, preferably in Jerusalem - this doesn't sound too easy to do, to say the least.  But once the Elohim arrive they will promote scientific and technological advancement, creating material prosperity and increased leisure for humans - so they will have an enhanced lifestyle.

There is one added bonus for their arrival. They will offer human beings the prospect of immortality. One snag: this will only be offered to those whose actions merit this. Again a familiar pattern.

There is more to the Raelians than this but that's a brief synopsis as I understand it. But one obvious question I wanted to know was: Who created the Elohim? This is the official answer:

"If we believed in God, we might ask, 'Who created God'. If we believed in evolution and the Big Bang we might ask, "Where did this matter and energy come from that created the big-bang?"

For the Elohim, it is the same - they were created by people coming from the sky as were their creators. It's an infinite cycle of life. One day scientists from earth will also go to another planet and populate it."

I found this answer interesting as it's something similar to what I had been wondering myself in my recent post: A How Did It All Begin Ramble.

Strange how questions get answered, but is this the right answer?

Yesterday I rambled on a bit about immortality and the Big Bang and how the universe, as we now know it, may have come about. One of the things that bothered me was where the gases for the Big Bang came from, and what was there prior to the big event happening.

A How Did It All Begin Ramble

So how did it all begin? The universe and us, that is. Some will say it was all an act of God, a God who is immortal.

Others tell us of the Big Bang. Though Brian Yanny PhD, a research scientist from Illinois, says the Bang may not have been Big at all! His words:

"Current evidence suggests that, far from being 'big', the whole, vast expanse of space and all the visible galaxies and stars originated in a dense sphere of glowing gas much smaller than a pea."

Yes, but, as I was always asking as a kid: Where did the dense sphere of gas come from? Though I used to ask about 'gases'.

As we know life there is a beginning and an end but only God is immortal, well so the Bible says:

1 Timothy 6:16 - "Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; who no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power ever lasting."

Okay! So those who say they have seen God must be telling porkies, if they believe in the Bible that is.

I've always felt that all of us, no matter how we actually started, will carry on for eternity but again the Bible disagrees, which must mean there is no Heaven or reincarnation.

Ecclesiastes 9:5 "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing ..."

Ecclesiastes 9:10 "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might, for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest."

So that's not too comforting, is it?

Going back to 'where did it all begin'. I suppose it's because we cannot accept that the beginnings came from nothing, even if pea sized, is why mankind began to believe in a God or Gods. It seemed and seems the only answer.

There has to be some sort of everlasting, immortal universal mind. But, as many have said, man also creates God in his own image - as has been the case right from the earliest of civilisations.

So how did it all begin? I'm not sure. Supposing it was by God, what was He doing prior to creating our universe 14 billion years ago? Was He creating other Universes? Or something completely different?

My gosh, there are a lot of questions and I don't think anyone really knows the answers.

Sorry, if today's post is a bit of a ramble. I was just putting a few thoughts together and had no idea where they would lead.

Could Time And Space Eventually Prove Immortality

I'm no scientist but the possibilities of time and space fascinates me. Sometimes I get the feeling that we could use these to prove immortality. The patterns are probably out there. As Einstein said, 'God does not play dice with the Universe.'

There is the Special Theory which talks of the lives of twins. If one twin stays on earth while the other takes a flight into space, at close to the speed of light, time will go more slowly on the spacecraft. If the spaceman twin returned to earth after say ten years he will be only five years older - but his twin will have aged ten years. The twin in space will not have felt any different to his twin on earth. There is a time dilation in space.

To take it to a more extreme example. If one twin sets off to the nearest star, 4.3 light years away, and travelled at 98 per cent of the speed of light the journey would take him 8.775 years - but his twin would have aged 43.2 years.

If for the same journey one twin travelled at well over 99 per cent of the speed of light, when he returned everyone he had ever known would be dead.

This may appear to be just theory but it has been proven in part. In July 1977, for example, accurate atomic clocks were placed aboard a U.S. satellite and sent into orbit. On their return the clocks were compared with a similar clock at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington. The satellite's clocks had slowed down by a small amount. Time had therefore passed more slowly on the satellite.

I realise that what I have written is very simplistic, but if we can accept that time can be manipulated then immortality and such things as seeing into the past or future are all possible. Well, perhaps.

Where Is Heaven?

"So where is Heaven?"

I've read quite a few Near Death Experiences (NDEs) and though, often very descriptive, they never say 'whereabouts' it is they actually visited. Travel descriptions and pictures are all well and good but it's also nice to have a map. Especially if you think you might one day pay a visit yourself.

Usually people say that Heaven is up above us: we go up to Heaven and down for Hell, but that must surely now be an outdated view.

I was pondering this conundrum - not that my bags are packed or anything - but it would be nice to know where certain people are now residing.

When my best friend died his wife gave me quite a few of his books, many of them I still haven't got round to reading. I did, however, open up one yesterday called, The Magic Of Angels. This is a publication from the Seekers Trust who my friend was associated with. They are a spiritual and healing group in England.

The book is written by C.A. Simpson but the fly leaf states, "Based on the teachings of Dr. Lascelles received through his medium the late Mr. C.A. Simpson." Think of that what you will.

Anyway, here is what the book says about the location of Heaven:

"Heaven, we are informed by the great teachers and masters, does indeed exist, but it exists in the here and now, not in some other place some other time.This leaves us with the conclusion that it must occupy the same place as this earth.

One of the first precepts of philosophy is that two things cannot occupy the same place at the same time. But they can. If one interpenetrates the other as the odour of roses interpenetrates the air, or as water interpenetrates a sponge, then two things can occupy the same place.

This leaves us with the problem of invisibility. If Heaven is here and now interpenetrating not only us ourselves, but everything else on earth, how is it that we are not aware of it?

Perhaps the problem is one of hyper-physics whereby one atomic system can exist within another. This would indicate that there is nothing supernatural about Heaven and that it is a manifestation of a greatly extended nature, vaster and more intricate than science at this stage is capable of measuring.

After all, frontiers of nature have been pushed back so far that many things which are regarded as normal and acceptable (e.g. radio waves for instance and the whole range of cosmic rays) would have been looked upon as both impossible and supernatural a century ago."

Regarding Heaven and it's residents the book states:

"As for the inhabitants of Heaven we might consider Dr. Lascelles' assertion that Heaven is a mirror of this world. If a mirror, then the inhabitants of Heaven would be recognisable, but so also would the buildings, roads and artifacts. Normality would have to be the keynote."

So, according to a dead doctor - who should therefore have the inside info - Heaven is running alongside the earth side by side, intermingled, so to speak. The dead are with us but denseness or vibrational levels mean we can't see them.

And what do the dead in Heaven wear? Clothes - fortunately! To quote the good doctor, "The inhabitants of Heaven wear clothes. It is noteworthy that period costume appears to be the mode more than modern gear. This again suggests that what we call Heaven is, in some mysterious way, furnished by our own consciousness ..."

And regarding the variation in NDE visions, this would be dependent on what part of Heaven was seen. Just as our earth varies from country to country and continent to continent, so does Heaven.

Did this answer my question: "Where is Heaven?" Probably not but I've always felt that there are different 'layers' surrounding the earth getting finer and finer. The level we reach after death depends on our personal level of attainment. If we are none too fine, back we come to our earth level for another lesson. This way I can believe both in Heaven and reincarnation.

But there again, it could all be something completely different and one day we'll simply wake up from our dream. The only thing I feel certain about is that we are all immortal.

The Journey Of Immortality

Not sure where I'm going with this post today, where it will end or even why I'm writing it. I'll just see how it pans out.

I had a strange dream last night and felt I had to write about this.

In my dream I was on a journey of some sort, which was very enjoyable. My problem, however, was that I always had another half of the distance to travel and so I knew I would never return home.

When I'd travelled half way I still had half to go. But when I had done half of this particular half, I still had another half to do and this went on ad infinitum, which meant I could never reach my destination.

When I woke up this got me remembering about how, when I was in my teens, I used to muse over various questions which were popular at the time. Such as: If a tree falls in a forest, and no one was around to hear it, does it make a sound?

But the one question that always got to me was about completing a set distance. To complete the distance I would first have to cover half the distance. Then I have to cover half of the remaining distance, but when I'd travelled half of this ... then I have to travel half the remaining distance, but when I'd travelled half of this ... and so this will go on forever.

At the time I concluded that there must therefore be a basic unit of matter from which everything is made or constructed. I remember reading about atoms and presumed this had to be the answer.

But atoms are 99.99% space. So that means I'd have to travel through this for eternity as well - providing I split the atom first, of course.

All of this got me back to my dream.

But then I got thinking about what would happen if I kept on halving time. Again there would always be a half of the time remaining ad infinitum: Half of a half of a half of a half of a half ... I would never reach the end of time.

After writing the above, I tried to look on Google quickly to see what I could find. The journey is similar to Zeno's Paradox.

But could this actually be an argument in favour of immortality - as we will never reach the end of our existence. Like Gods we will continue forever through time and space, maybe never quite reaching our final destination unless, that is, we fully merge with our creator.

So that's how this post has panned out.
