After Death Comes LIFE Not Sleep!

A while back my best friend died and his wife gave me several of his books. Some of these were published by the Seekers Trust

The other day I knocked one of the books on the floor and it opened at page 105. I glanced at the page as I picked the book up and read the quote below. This seemed very appropriate for me as, for various reasons, I had been thinking about death recently. So I was sort of led to the quote.

My friend would contact and visit The Seekers Trust when feeling low or in poor health.

Here is the quote from their book titled The Magic of Angels. See what you think.

"Talking about death the Doctor makes a most astounding statement when he says that Death is all gain and no loss!

He knows that there is life after death, but at the same time he is more firm when he says that if you have not been holy on earth your chances of being holy after death are remote. As above so below, he insists, and is capable of acerbity and ridicule when confronted with the notion of being asleep in the arms of Jesus and maudling affections of the old fashioned church. After death comes LIFE not sleep!

He agrees that death is followed by a period of rest, restoration and recuperation but, with devastating humour he claims we are all better off dead! Whilst not agreeing with him in the immediate term we can learn much from discussions regarding the Angel Kingdom, as he calls the life hereafter."

Sensing The Future, Premonition And Angel 37

Here's something strange. I woke up with the number 37 in my head and a picture of Google (of all things!) I thought no more about it, until later when I checked my Google Plus account. In the top right hand corner of the page was the number of notifications I had that day and it was ... yes 37! Normally I have more than this, so not a typical number I would have guessed.

It also amused me because before I went to bed that night I had been reading Trish & Rob MacGregor's book Sensing the Future! So were my early morning thoughts influenced by what I had read?! Had I sensed the future - who knows.

I thought I'd look on the Internet to see if the number 37 had any significance, and couldn't find much but I did come across a blog called Angel Numbers. It seems 37 has a meaning (according to the writer that is) :

Angel Number 37 is a message from your angels that you are currently travelling along the right ‘life path’, and you are encouraged to persist in this vein. The Ascended Masters are with you giving you guidance and assistance when needed. Source
.
So that's nice to know!

The Guardian Angels From Somewhere

Guardian Angel

Here's a questioning small piece from 89 year old Coralie of Manchester that got me off on a disjointed train of thought.

"The idea of Guardian Angels is interesting, but why does 'religion' have to come into the equation?

"Should there be beings who look like us humans but have wings etc.? Here's another view.

"When we sleep, we leave our bodies and go - where? Into another dimension? Are we being shown what happens when we don't return to our bodies, when we 'die', for want of a better word?

"I'm quite sure that I've been watched and helped all my life. Everything I've needed - not wanted, but needed - be it good or bad, has been given to me.

"Who or what is doing this watching or guiding we cannot possibly imagine because we're only human.

"I've been near death many times, especially during the war, as we all were then. Perhaps we're being experimented with.

"I also know that I return to my somewhat ancient body every morning for some reason. I've lived almost 90 years, seen and done everything, so why do I keep returning? Maybe one day I'll find out."

I agree with Coralie that the subject of Guardian Angels is interesting. A recent survey by the pollster ICM recently found that 31% of British people - and 41% of British women - said they believed Guardian Angels existed.

Gemma Arterton
Gemma Arterton
We also have the likes of actress Gemma Arterton, Hollywood's Denzil Washington and UK television presenter Gloria Hunniford all saying that they believe in Guardian Angels. It's almost the in thing to be part of. Just look at how many angel tattoos are wobbling about on various celebrity bodies.

I've never personally seen such an angel - a real one that is - but I do have the feeling that I am sometimes looked after or helped along the way. Last year when I had kidney surgery it felt like I was being comforted prior to the operation. Karin couldn't believe how I was joking with the doctors and nurses and how relaxed I was. (It wasn't drugs!) Somehow I knew there was nothing to worry about.

I read a few days back that Gloria Hunniford claims to have a parking angel which helps her find spaces for her car. I've got one too! I wrote about this in a post How To Get A Car Parking Space Using Coincidences back in January 2011. It works along the lines of: "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find ..."

Books on angels, such as Lorna Byrne's Angels In My Hair are big sellers. I believe it has sold well over half a million copies.

But what do those doubting Thomas experts say on the subject? Professor Of Psychology at Goldsmiths University says:

"A lot of these people are genuinely seeing these things. For example, mountain climbers who have lost their bearings sometimes report seeing a figure guiding them out of the danger.

It may be a psychological defence when faced with danger. Of course, we don't hear from those whose guardians led them off the edge of a cliff!"

Neuroscientists have tried to explain away visions of this nature. In 2005 Swiss researchers found that sending a small electric current through the left temporoparietal junction (a small area at the back of the brain which retains visual memories and sensory information) resulted in patients seeing ghostly figures.

Tibetan Monk
Brain scans taken of Tibetan monks showed mystical experiences tended to occur when sections at the front of the brain were very active, while those involved in navigation and spatial orientation were calm. This led to the assumption that there is a physical difference in the brains of those who experience such visions.

Going back to those celebrities who say they have seen or have a Guardian Angels. Believers often say that the vision ends with the angel passing on a message or sign in the form of white feathers. I've written many posts about white feathers.

Gemma Arterton has been quoted as saying that she has feathers which follow her everywhere.

The televison presenter and author Judy Finnegan says she found white feathers in her house, which she believes were evidence of her friend Caron Keating, who died of cancer, returning as an angel.

Those experts will claim that such phenomena simply reflect the human need to find patterns and significance in otherwise random events. Huh! I can disagree as I have seen white feathers over and over after the loss of loved ones.

It's up to us what we believe and sometimes I'm happy to look upwards and say 'thank you' following some help or even just for finding a car parking space. I must admit though I'm not exactly sure who or what I'm saying thank you to - but I feel it's a power for good.

The Guardian Angels Waiting To be Summoned

Guardian angel

Nowadays we often talk about guardian angels and, for some reason, I presumed that this idea originated from within Christianity. But it seems other religions have equivalents.

In Islam there is a term al-mu'aqqibat which means those who follow one upon another. Some scholars claim that these are similar to guardian angels

"When I was a child I thought I saw an angel. It had wings and kind of looked like my sister. I opened the door so some light could come into the room, and it sort of faded away. My mother said it was probably my guardian angel."
~ Denzel Washington
It is said in Islamic teachings (as I understand it) that God assigns two angels to each of us throughout our lives. One sits on our right shoulder and the other on our left. These are called kiraman katibin and record our actions, thoughts and feelings from puberty.

The angel who sits on the right shoulder records the good that we do while the angel on the left records our bad deeds. So we can't hide much from God! On the Day of Judgement each person will be confronted with this record - and the two angels will be present to tell God of what the person did.

Thinking about this though these angels differ from the popular, more western versions as they do not seem to step in and help the person they are with - they purely record events. But, in saying this the Qur'an states (Chapter 13 Verse 11) "For each person there are angels in succession, before and behind him: They guard him by command of Allah."

An Irish Blessing:
These things I warmly wish for you: someone to love, some work to do, a bit o' sun, a bit o' cheer, and a guardian angel always near.
I have read that Muslims sometimes say, "Peace be upon you," while looking at their left and right shoulders - where the angels reside - as they offer their daily prayers.

If we move on to Hinduism there is a belief that all living things - people, animals, plants - have a deva assigned to them to guard and help 'us' understand the universe and how we can become one with it.

Going back to Christianity I have a cutting (sorry, don't know source) which states:

There must be a convey of guardian angels, working twenty-four hours a day, looking after me ... Like the night I first got to Nashville and laid down in the middle of Broadway, waiting to get run over. It didn't happen ... I could swear they were keeping me alive just to see what I'd get up to next, I'm glad they feel that way.
~ Willie Nelson
"In Catholic Christianity, believers say that God assigns one guardian angel to each person as a spiritual friend for the person’s entire life on Earth. The Catechism of the Catholic Church declares in section 336 about guardian angels: 'From infancy to death, human life is surrounded by their watchful care and intercession. Beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd leading him to life.'"

I like the idea of having a Guardian Angel, but then I have my doubts because some of them don't appear to being doing a very good job on behalf of the people they are supposedly looking after. I think the answer to this is that we have to actually ask for help or guidance on matters of life. Maybe if we don't ask, we don't get.

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."

Sounds fair enough!

The Angel Helpers And White Feathers

Angels Les Cloches du soir, 1891

An interesting story today by Ann from Merseyside, England that takes in angels and also white feathers - which I have written about often on this blog.

"I work and see angels.

After my first encounter in 1992 which took me on a path towards distance healing, until I later became a Reiki healer, all these people came and stood around the end of the treatment bed.

There were ladies seated in front and males behind: watching me at one point were 14 people. They all wore different colours and didn't have wings.

I know now they were archangels and ascended masters. At the time, I didn't understand what was going on and rang the spiritualist headquarters in London to ask for help. I was told I was the student and they were checking I did it right. They said I should ask them to go, which they did.

But now different ones come in as I work on someone - and I know what the person needs because of who they are.

I had done distance healing for a few years on one lady who was very ill but then gave her hands-on treatment.  She cried out and when I opened my eyes and asked her if she was all right, she said she'd seen the most beautiful white light (I see this all the time when I'm working) and the love that was coming from it was unbelievable.

I told her who was with her and she was very much comforted. When the time came for her passing, she wasn't frightened any more.

I attended her funeral, and was so happy to see her at the front of the church supported on the arm of her guardian angel.

The family was amazed because as she was lowered into her grave a white feather came floating down and landed on her coffin. All angels exist to help us: all you have to do is ask."

The Ley Line Grid With Access To Astral Travel Now Open

Angels and the stairway to heaven

I thought I'd post something a little different today from Tristran. Most of it is far removed from my own beliefs about aliens, angels, ley lines, numbers and so on but it's always interesting to learn what other people think and believe - even if it does appear a little muddled.

One day the aliens will show themselves and admit that they have been on this planet since Roswell (1947). They will make out that they are good guys here to help us. Simply ask yourself, "If they are such good luvy duvy helpers, why have they happily watched civilization destroy itself over the past 60 years".

They will show great wonders like they did on Jan 1st 2011 with the 1.1.11 wake-up call. Approximately 75 million people across the world have seen the 11:11 wake-up call since Jan 1st 1991 and now have access to the (ley lines) grid and can quite possibly fly using astral travel.

Some aliens are 8ft tall like the standard height of angels or 'the watchers'. In their case the 'fallen b'nai Elohim' or men of God, a.k.a 'fallen ones'.

Those of us who have been seeing the numbers now probably have these 'angels' dna in our blood which explains why we can sense something wierd, wonderful, awesome and amazing is about to happen.

Ley-lines in the astral world are red, yellow and blue and will allow people to access this grid through interception points (standing stones) to this world. Its almost like a train line where stations (stone circles) allow spirits to disembark onto another ley-line.

Many ley-lines intersect at Glastonbury (England) which is why that area is so spiritually strong.

In the Book of Enoch all people that were contaminated with fallen angel dna are damned to walk this world for all eternity. These spirits are classed as ghosts, demons, nephil spirits, giants, rephiums and raphahs.

It is a common misconception by humans to class ghosts/demons as evil. It is not the demons fault that they will never leave this world. This is why demons are so hostile when their land is invaded by humans.

If anyone feels a strong desire to return to a place (that they once knew) then that makes them a raphah (pronounced raw-faw).

Following numbers (such as 11:11 etc) is a very bad idea. The ancestral spirits will also gladly insert numbers into your dreams if you order (demand) them to. They will tempt you with this pagan new-age stuff if it allows them to torture your soul after you die.

Trust me, you do not want to end up in the company of these fallen watchers (ancestral spirits). The level of fear that radiates from these guys will destroy souls in less than 10 minutes.

If you know of anyone who has met these fallen watchers, ask them how they felt. They will probably be shaking as they relive their moments of fear.

The Great Unknown Link Between God And Man

I have written previously about how How The Ancient Egyptians Sent Letters To The Dead and also how The Magic Of Our Ancestors Can Bring Us Success. On a similar theme I came across the following which was channelled by a medium and are said to be the words of a Dr Lascelles. It illustrates how our loved ones are with us and may also be able to help us with our problems.

I'll say first that I'm an 'undecided' about channelling, mainly because I have never personally witnessed anything convincing. I still have an open mind on the subject. No doubt, when the time is right, I'll get my answer. In the meantime here's what Dr Lascelles has to say:

"... there is a third existence between God and man. It is the great unknown link.

Between God and man there exists a whole universe of life which is active, benevolent, creative and positively real.

The existence of this stratum between God and man has little to do with what people think religion is. It is just a fact, as it is a fact that there is life on earth ... they are there and that is that.

This strata of life which I am referring to is inhabited by beings who were once as concrete in their formation as you are now. Actually they are still concrete and visible to each other. It is only that they have passed out of the wave band of vibration which you can perceive. Those beings have all lived an earth life and have passed through what you like to call death.

The inhabitants are all those whom you tend to think of as dead. They are not dead, of course, far from it, but they have terminated their period of activity on earth. They exist in great numbers and live lives which, in many respects, are not unlike yours. There is one difference they are aware of you, and they are concerned with life as they once knew it on earth, but you are not usually aware of them.

The spirits of the dead do exist and offer constant help. But do not imagine they can be prayed to. They cannot. You must pray to God and God will answer your prayers through the inhabitants of the invisible world ... The spirits or angels receive their power from the source of all power just as you do, and they stand as a bridge between the ultimate power and you.

Their invisibility and their apparent non-existence in the normal way must not blind you to the reality of their presence."

The Doctor admits that many prayers are not answered. The technique, it seems, has to be learnt. He continues by saying:

"The Bible tells us to approach the Lord in calmness and confidence. In such a manner must we approach prayer ... It is not necessary to kneel in a penitent pose of sad commitment. The affectation of a 'religious' voice is of no help nor is one required to adopt a confessional attitude ... Sit comfortably and as far as possible in a relaxed position. Lie down if you feel better that way. Sitting, kneeling and standing expend energy. Power is required and an extra supply may be induced from a state of relaxation."

The doctor adds:

"Remember that we only retreat into the orthodox attitude to God and prayer because we fail to see, hear and feel the presence of angelic beings. Were we convinced that actual angelic beings accompanied us during the day and were at hand through all our sufferings, we should feel no need for formalised religious teachings. We would simply know and, in knowing we would be complete."

And that's it for today, other than to thank my good friend Colin, who died a few years back, for leaving me this and other information.

The Guardian Angel Who Saved Her From A Car Crash

A ghostly sighting, or maybe a guardian angel story, today from 67 Not Out reader Gwendoline.

"I have been reading some of your white feather and ghost posts and I thought I would tell you my tale. Most of my friends don't think it's true but this only happened last month.

I had been visiting some old Uni friends in Tiverton and by the time I was ready to drive home to Lynmouth it was getting quite late and dark. Instead of keeping to the main roads I decided to go across Exmoor on the B roads.

At the edge of Exmoor I was on the B3222 and in front of me at the side of the road I saw a man dressed all in white. He stood out as it was so dark. I didn't feel frightened but as I got nearer to him he started to cross the road which made me quickly put on my brakes. I slowed right down. I knew I hadn't hit him but he had disappeared.

As I was about to speed up again a big lorry came round a bend in the opposite direction. He was on my side of the road but had time to turn back onto the left, where he should have been.

As I got to the bend I realised that if I hadn't have slowed down for the man in white the lorry would most likely have hit me head on. This shook me up and I couldn't get the mysterious man out of my mind. It didn't make sense that anyone would be walking along such a road at night and the fact that he simply disappeared was also puzzling.

When I told my flat mate about what had happened she said it must have been my guardian angel protecting me. But he didn't have any wings and was wearing what looked like a suit of trousers and jacket.

My flat mate reckons that guardian angels aren't always with wings and how we see them in pictures.

This is where my story gets more weirder as I'm sure I saw this man sitting in a chair in our lounge when I got up during the night to go to the loo. But by the time my eyes had adjusted properly he was gone.  I'm not sure what to think."

A Message Of Hope From The Angels

Angel of hope

Lorna Byrne from Ireland has been seeing angels since she was a small child.  In fact, when young, she was so preoccupied with them that doctors considered that she may well be 'retarded' - an unpleasant word sometimes used at the time.

According to Lorna there are millions of angels and - because most of us don't call on them for help and assistance - many of them are sitting about with nothing to do. Perhaps we should put this right!

So what do these angels look like? Well, it seems, they might be golden or blue or any colour, other than black and they come in all different sizes and can be male or female.

Angels tend to glow but I was disappointed to hear that they don't necessarily have wings.  I've always thought of angels as being synonymous with wings.

Now, again according to Lorna, we all have our own guardian angel who only looks after us as individuals and these tend to appear like a column of light.

These guardian angels have the ability to call on all sorts of other angels for even the most mundane of assistance like, say, when we have a problem with the car or the household plumbing. There are others that will be there for us at more important times: during medical problems and surgical operations.

Angels place an invisible shawl around the shoulders of  long married couples.  If the relationship then slips into difficulties it will because the shawl has slipped and needs putting back in place.

Angels also do a spot of match making for the unattached if needed.  These angels of love pair off couples by putting a golden thread around them and they don't just confine this to heterosexuals. Same sex couples get the same help.

Many people will mock the very thought of angels but lets open our minds and think that this may just be possible.  I'm sure we've all heard tales of how a guardian angel has plucked someone to safety in an emergency or something similar.

In all honesty I don't communicate with angels myself directly but there again perhaps I do.  If something goes missing, for an example, I often ask nobody in particular to help me find the item. I'd say words similar to: 'Please help me find my keys.'  And when whatever it is, is found I say, 'thanks,' while looking upwards. No idea where I got this habit from, it's just with me.

I use the same procedure if the car breaks down or I'm lost.  I'll ask for help to fix the car or with finding the way I should be going. So perhaps the angels have and do help me at times.

I've always believed in life: if you don't ask, you don't get.  And I remember back in my management days I'd say: if you don't tell, you won't sell. Though that's something different from asking angels, who knows what we could achieve with the help of the angels - but if we don't ask ...

The Angels Solution To Our Problems

photo of an angel

After my best friend of some 30+ years died his wife gave me some of his books. Amongst these were several from the Seekers Trust, often these included information on angels.

One of these publications, The Magic Of Angels, was written by a medium who received the teachings mentioned in the book through channeling a Dr.Lascelles.

I have no proof that channeling is genuine, but my friend did believe in such things and had no doubt that we survive Earthly death. He was a reflexologist and was once told that he had been some sort of healer in a previous life.

I picked up this book again, after I had been thinking about how different all our lives would be if we all believed in a God or Supreme Power and that we are immortal - but, as John Lennon wrote, we would also have to imagine no religion too!

As can happen when we are thinking about something I opened the book (p.176) and read:

"What if you really did believe that the room in which you sit was full of angels? ... Can you conceive it? Well it is a fact. Digest that for a moment and then think again - power is being poured down upon you and upon earth every moment of the day and night. All you have to do is ask for the help which is always available.

Once the immortality of man and his soul is established upon an indisputable basis and it becomes the rightful study of mankind there will be no barriers and the ugly world of divide and rule will be a thing of the past."

The Doctor, who was being channeled, said later on the page:

"Do not become bogged down in clever catch phrases, do not philosophise and pretend you know everything - you know very little and need to know little. What you need is to act.  You need to take the extended hand of help and friendship, which is ever awaiting your awakening."

And further on he continues:

"Help is there for the taking.  For a short moment pause and think how you would feel if the burdens which oppress you could be removed. Imagine how you would sigh with relief. Think how you would relax if you knew that your troubles could be taken from your shoulders simply for the asking."

The book ends with this sentence, "The guides or ministering angels, rendered service to Jesus because He knew of their powers. If you ask also, your ills will be healed."

As I was saying earlier: how different our lives would be if we all believed.
