Ghosts and White Feathers Seen While Self Isolating

Over the last week or two my wife has felt what she describes as a shadow behind her, when in our kitchen. It doesn't scare her in any way. So whatever, or whoever, it is isn't in any way evil or nasty - she just feels that something is watching her.

I hadn't thought too much about this until I was flicking through an old copy of the Daily Mail's You magazine. In an article it mentions how some people are experiencing visitations of ghosts and spirits during this time of problems with the coronavirus.

They give a few experiences of what people have seen. A woman, for example, sees a ghost who she describes as Top Hat Man. He is like a shadow at the periphery of her vision.

There's also a pub full of differing spirits - the non alcoholic sort - which includes Harold who scares guests by grabbing their necks - and so the stories go on.

A spiritualist medium You magazine consulted, is quoted as saying, "It's not surprising that people may be more aware at this time of being in lockdown … now many of us are at home all day we have more time for reflection. There are fewer distractions so we're more responsive to energies around us."

A while back I wrote about how three important people in our lives died within a short period of time. Two of the deaths were completely unexpected.

I mention this as my wife, at that difficult time, sensed someone touching her gently and saw the shape of one of the deceased in the kitchen window. Again, this wasn't scary.

This all happened around the time I first began to see white feathers following the loss of loved ones. This started when my mother died. The feathers seemed to be everywhere and these continued following our two other losses as well.

See my post White Feathers Comfort The Bereaved. There are also dozens and dozens of other white feather posts on this blog.

The coronavirus has had an effect on us in so many ways. Our lives could well be altered forever.

P.S. My wife had another creepy happening last night. She went up to bed before me. After a while she heard footsteps in the bedroom, we have a wooden floor. Thinking it was me she never looked up. If she had done so she would have realised that I was still downstairs!

Best Of Friends: Daisy The Ghost And Jasper The Dog

Daisy chain

A ghost story today but a nice gentle one. A ghost, a mirage or just imagination? Betty Collins isn't sure but is convinced she saw something.

This spooked me briefly when it first happened but now I feel quite relaxed about it.

I live in Devon, England and three months ago moved into an old cottage with a lovely big garden at the rear which is perfect for me and my dog Jasper.

I was in the conservatory at the back of the cottage having some lunch and Jasper was outside. He was sitting still and looked to be quite happy. Both of us contented, we got on with what we were doing, me eating bread and cheese while reading a magazine and him sitting in the fresh air.

I glanced up from my magazine and couldn't believe what I saw. There was a young girl, maybe about nine or ten years old and she was stroking Jasper's head. Some guard dog I thought!

I then realised that the girl was in a long, white, old fashioned nightie. I got up to find out who she was and she vanished slowly before my eyes. Jasper shook his head and got up to walk towards me, furiously wagging his tail.

The girl was definitely gone. "A ghost," I thought, "no, can't be."

It puzzled me and sent a shiver up my spine. Over the next couple of days I forgot all about my ghost and never felt uneasy or frightened in the cottage.

About a week later, again at lunch time, I glanced out of the window and Jasper was lying on the grass and the girl was back. She was stroking him and I noticed she had a ring of daisies around her almost golden coloured hair. I stood as still as I could and it looked so real. Jasper was enjoying the attention.

I went to move into the garden and the girl faded away. Jasper turned his head like he was looking for her but she had disappeared.

I've seen her once more but that was now over six weeks ago and nothing since.

The cottage where I am living goes back to the mid 1800s so I'm thinking the girl must have lived there once upon a time. Her nightdress looked Victorian.

I wouldn't mind seeing her again, I call her Daisy, as she was so gentle looking and radiated goodness.

I've asked my nearest neighbours if they have heard of any ghost stories about my cottage but they looked at me like I was mad. I wonder if I'll ever see Daisy again.

I Heard A Ghost On My Stairs

Ghost on the stairs

I have to admit that I have never seen a ghost or spirit, but I believe I have felt a presence and have noticed a lingering smell - such as my dad's blend of tobacco following his death. I've also experienced things like my father's watch stopping at the exact time my son was born. I have written about this previously, but I think I may have heard something as well ...

This happened when my wonderful mum was near to drawing her last breath. She had only days to live so it was a very emotional time. Two days before she died I was in the bathroom having an early morning shower when my wife called out that she was popping down to the local shop for something. "Won't be long," she said.

I finished my shower, and all was quiet as I dried myself, when I heard someone slowly coming up the stairs, their footsteps slow and precise. I took no real notice as I presumed it was my wife back already.

I got dressed and made my way downstairs for breakfast when I heard my wife at the front door. She told me she had just returned. "But I heard you come up the stairs," I said.

"Well it wasn't me," she laughed.

Puzzled, and a little apprehensive, I searched the house and felt quite relieved that there was nobody about. It would have been impossible for anyone to get in, as all of the doors and windows were locked - and yet I definitely heard someone coming up our stairs and passing the bathroom.

My wife did say that it was perhaps my mum paying a last visit. Then I remembered another incident from when I was a child of probably five or six.

I was home from school as I hadn't been well. We lived upstairs in a flat (apartment). Suddenly my mum and I heard slow footsteps coming up the stairs. I remember being terrified listening to the steady tread on the stairs and continuing towards our living room. Even my mum looked apprehensive.

The door opened, and it was my grandmother! The front door was unlocked so she had just walked in and up the stairs. This was the one and only time she ever visited our flat, even though we lived there for nearly thirteen years - I won't go into the reasons why.

I remember vividly to this day how, when she came through the door, I was shaking with fear because I didn't know who it could possibly be.

The steps sounded exactly the same as those on my own stairs that morning.

It may seem very fanciful, maybe I'm fooling myself, but I can't help but think that either my mother or her mother was on the stairs that day.

The Man From The Spirit World Made Love To Her

Sleep paralysis

Today's theme runs on from my post Sleep Paralysis And Seeing People Who Aren't There - Or Are They? which all started with Kate's posts - links to her stories are at the end of this post. Kindly note, this subject may not appeal to all as it has a slight adult nature.

The latest story has similarities to previous posts. It's interesting that it also features sleep paralysis, which is reasonably common. As usual, I accept such stores and experiences in good faith - I realise they are difficult for may people to accept as being true. The author wishes to remain anonymous.

"I was about to got to sleep one evening when I saw something like fog or smoke enveloping me. With my eyes closed I felt someone embrace me tightly.

Then this entity kissed me on the lips for a few seconds, then left.

At first I couldn't breathe, but I let him kiss me anyway. After the mysterious kiss and tight embrace, I felt so calm and relaxed like I'd never felt before.

A few weeks later, he came back just as I was about to fall asleep. This time he not only kissed me, he made love to me.

One thing led to another, and so I would welcome his visits. But I noticed he would only visit me when I was tired, stressed or needed calmness. Soon I could even communicate with him mentally.

Later, the amorphous fog or smoke began to take shape and became the solidity of a real man. I could now see his eyes and touch his body whenever I was in that very relaxed state you call the alpha level of the brain waves. We would make love or reunite with each other for a few seconds. I really liked and enjoyed those moments with my invisible lover. I figured he was my soul mate who'd come to visit me.

Then one time when he visited me again, he held or touched my neck. I felt he was choking me. I told him to let me go - and he did. But from that time on his visits, which previously were pleasurable for me, became a threat. I saw the sadness in his eyes when he left. After that incident he never visited me again.

I went to Japan to study (I'm from the Philippines) without any more incident. But then something happened.

I was about to fall asleep when I felt someone crawling on my bed. At first I did not pay attention to it because I knew I was alone in the room. Then I felt him lie down beside me. I felt him adjusting his position because my bed is for one person. I felt his heavy weight and I could hardly breathe.

He wanted to kiss me but I could not feel his kiss. I only saw a grey shapeless smoke without a face. I could not move my body. But I was still in control of my mind. I was on the verge of crying.

Then I prayed the Lord's Prayer and he started to fade until he was completely gone. It was only then that I could breathe and move my body again.

Now I am afraid the spirit may come back. When I tell my friends they don't believe me. They think I'm only imagining things because I have no boyfriend."

Sees Grandmother From Beyond The Grave

Grandmother and reflection

This is a follow up to my post He Saw His Dead Friend. Matt Frost says that he too has seen someone who had died.

"In April, while drinking a cup of tea, I plainly heard a knock on the window, and, looking around, saw my grandmother outside. I went to the door, but did not see anyone.

Still feeling sure it was my grandmother, and knowing that, though eighty-three years old, she was very fond of a joke, I went around the house, but could not find anyone.

Later that day I received the news that my grandmother died about half an hour before I 'saw' her. I had not known she was ill. She had always promised me that she would come to me after she died if she could."

Her Uncle Visited Her From Beyond The Grave

Red Poppies

The question with today's post is: Did Susan's uncle contact her from beyond the grave? Or maybe it was all a simple 'coincidence' - if there is such a thing, of course.

My uncle was a lovely, caring man and was a Manchester United [English soccer club] supporter.

When he died it was the day before Remembrance Day, and I visited the chapel of rest to say a last goodbye. Uncle was dressed in a black suit and tie with a white shirt, and it struck me how drab it all looked.

So I took a poppy I was wearing and pinned it to Uncle's lapel. Then I kissed him on the cheek and left.

Fast forward two years and I was sitting watching Manchester United playing in a Champions League match on TV. There was only me in the room but my son was upstairs watching the game.

The door to the hall was open and out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw my son standing there. I turned to speak but there was no one there - just a glow of light on the floor.

This happened four times over the next 20 minutes or so, until eventually I got up and shouted up to my son, asking him if he'd been down. He said he hadn't. I returned to the lounge and continued to watch the game, still aware of the glow on the door,

There was a huge vase of silk poppies - my favourite flower - in the room. Suddenly one of the poppy heads fell off the flowers and onto the floor. I was quite shocked as I was the only person in the room and had not moved.

I phoned my sister's friend who is a psychic medium, and he asked me whose anniversary was around that time, I said my Uncle's.

Then he asked what I had given him in the chapel of rest. I was stunned, as it had been a poppy!

I ended the conversation and said: "Come in, Uncle, and watch the game." A few minutes later, when I turned round, the glow had gone from the door,

The Medium Told Her Of A Sister She Never Knew About

Spiritualism

There have been many fake mediums but amongst the dross a few seem to be genuine, as the following story possibly illustrates.

"My mother passed away in November 1999. In December 2014 I went to a medium.

He asked me if I had lost my mother who was a Gemini (which was her birth sugn). He even named her - Jean.

Then he told me she had to get something off her chest that she was sorry she never told me, and it was about my other sibling.

I am 61 and an only child, but he was adamant that she said there was another sibling.

Two days later, I contacted a cousin whom my mother lived with during the War. I asked if, when Mum lived with her family, did she have a miscarriage, an adoption or even a baby.

The next words nearly blew me away. My cousin said how sad she was for my mum, and that she had given birth to a baby girl when she was 19 years old in 1942!

I stood in my dining room, so stunned and shocked. My cousin had seen the baby lying on a settee in her house. She had just come home with her brother from being evacuated and was told they were looking after it for someone.

A few days later, they took the baby to a house in Southampton where my mother handed the baby over. On their return, my mother was very distressed. My cousin said she knew it was my mum's child.

I looked on the Internet and found a child born in 1942 with my mother's maiden name, and went to the local registration office to obtain a birth certificate. I was told the child was adopted, which would have been true. There was no father named.

How could the medium know about this if my mother had not told him?"

Contacted By Her Deceased Husband

Ghostly hand

I've published several posts recently of examples where the deceased have seemingly contacted their loved ones. Here's another short example.

After a long and happy marriage, my darling husband died. Five months later, I was sitting in my kitchen with the door to the hall open when the temperature in the bungalow dropped (it was a lovely, sunny day).

When I looked up, I could see an outline similar in size to my husband.

I spoke to him and told him how I loved him and missed him. After a short while, he put out his arms towards me ... and then he disappeared, and the temperature returned to normal.

I have never dismissed the thought of an afterlife, nor have I really believed in it, but I do know now that my beloved is waiting for me, so I have no fear of dying.

Young Woman And Her Dog See Grandfather's Spirit

Collie cross dog

An experience today from Margaret about how she and her dog saw her dead grandfather. At the time she was single and living at home with her mother.

"On the afternoon of his death, I suddenly had a feeling that he was gone. As I was leaving the house to visit him the phone rang. It was my sister calling to inform me that grandfather had died. I told her I already knew and was on my way to catch the bus.

At the time I had a dog called Lady. She was half-shepherd and half-collie. She was strictly my dog. She was a wonderful watchdog and always preferred to sleep outside on the front porch. No one could come into the yard without Lady alerting us by barking.

That night she howled like a banshee. I 'saw' my grandfather walk across our lawn, through the walls of the house, and come to stand in my bedroom doorway.

I felt no fear. Just warmth and love. He simply said, "Babe, be a good girl." Lady quit barking and grandfather went away. Then he came again and the same statement was repeated.

After this second visit, my mother brought Lady into my room and she crawled under my bed. Then grandfather came for a third time. Lady whimpered and fussed.

At this time I told grandfather that I would call mother so he could talk to her too. He said that she could not see him and that he would have to leave now. He did.

Lady was quiet the rest of the night. There was a phosphorescent substance that completely encircled grandfather each time I saw him.

I have never seen grandfather again since then."

The Spunkie Doomed To Walk The Earth Until Judgement Day

I happened upon the spunkie recently.

Legends from England's West Country say that spirit-like spunkies can take the shape of white moths, which flutter here and there often without being noticed.

The spunkie-haunted bog, Where sank the shepherd and his dog ~ 1898But what is a spunkie?

From what I can make out they are sad and lonely ghosts, some say the spririts of unbaptised children. They wander the land seeking someone to give them a name.Sadly they are doomed to do this until Judgement Day.

If you look carefully, however, you might just spot one at Halloween, in churches and at religious gatherings, where they are able to meet up with the spirits of those who have died recently.

But sometimes spunkies are problematic as per this example from the Superstitions of the Highlands (Scotland):

"Suddenly the traveller's attention was arrested by the most resplendent light, apparently reflected from a window nor far distant; which, however, as the traveller approached, receded from him like the rainbow.

Still pursuing his course toward it, the wily spunkie manoeuvred so dexterously, that the unhappy wanderer was speedily decoyed into the nearest moss or precipice. Plunging headlong into some fatal abyss, the deluded victim never returned to his mourning wife and family, to relate to them the spunkie's perfidy."

So another creature to worry about ... along with the likes of The Shadow People, Black Stick Men and Mothmen. Or perhaps they are figments of out imagination ... but there again ...

White Doves As Messengers From Beyond The Grave

White dove

Two more stories today about white doves and how they may be messengers or signs from the deceased. I will let readers reach their own conclusions regarding the stories.

I was interested to read your posts about white doves as they concur with thoughts I have had recently.

In May of this year I heard from my sister-in-law that my brother, Frank, had been taken into hospital following a nasty car accident. It wasn't possible for me to travel to see him until the coming weekend. That same evening, as I was looking out of my lounge window, a beautiful white dove landed on the lawn in my back garden. This was something I had never seen previously and the dove looked like he was looking at me, as I was looking at him.

I went outside and the dove flew up in to a tree and sat there looking down. It impressed me so much I went back indoors to fetch my camera. As I did so the telephone rang. It was my sister-in-law telling me that Frank had just died.

After this I saw, what I took to be, the same dove several times, but no more sightings recently.

I feel sure that the dove was in some way connected to my brother's death.

~ Agnes.

Peekaboo (my cat) got his terminal illness diagnosis on July 24 and was released from the vets on Friday July 25. This morning, Saturday, was the first time outside for Peekaboo and I since his diagnosis and we went out at dawn (1st light, call to prayer) which we have been doing for the month of Ramadam in solidarity with Muslims murdered around the World.

We went out at dawn (he had trouble going down the stairs) and walked to the front of the house where we heard a bird calling.

We looked over our heads and three white doves were flying above us heading north and one was calling to us and the other two silent.

Evidently the Holy Spirit wants Peekaboo for something.

I've had my doubts about Allah, but a few Summers back when the war on Libya began, four (4) giant tan coloured swans flew over our heads at dawn heading North.

I interpreted this as the the four horsemen of the apocalypse of Revelations (though I'm non-believer in Torah). It appears with the wars that have occurred since that dawn that perhaps the reckoning of 'Revelations' is near.

White doves and white feathers may also be signs from our animal friends:

Just lost our beloved dog on Saturday and since then have seen three white doves circling above our car and today a white feather stuck to the side of my shoe! I'm sure its to tell me Maxx is fine. x

The Ghost Of Her Grandpa Rescued Her And Then Said A Final Goodbye

Girl underwater
I seem to be on a ghostly theme recently and this continues today with a touching story from Lulu James about seeing her grandpa for the final time.

"When I was about eight years old my grandpa was very sick and was sent to hospital by ambulance. I was very close to him as my dad had moved out when I was a baby. Grandpa had helped bring me up.

That night as I lay in bed I couldn't sleep as I was so worried about him. I heard a strange banging noise coming from under my bed but, probably like any kid, I tried to ignore it by covering my head with the blankets.

I must have finally fallen asleep because I had a dream where I felt I was drowning. The only thing I could see while I was drowning was a figure coming from the sky. It got closer and closer and it gradually looked more and more like my grandpa. He picked me up and lifted me out of the water and told me to be strong. I didn't understand what he was talking about. He also said I must help to take care of my mom and other family members.

I woke up suddenly in fright, not knowing what was going on or where I was. I looked to the other side of the bed and there was my grandpa smiling at me and gently stroking my hair. He kissed me goodnight and softly said how much he loves me. He then faded away.

I must have drifted off to sleep again.

Early that morning, my mom was crying and told me grandpa had died that night at 11.45 pm.

I look back now in fondness of the last time I saw grandpa, he was a lovely, loving man. I now have children of my own but I'll never forget that night when, as a child, grandpa paid me a special, final visit."

Her Dead Father Crossed Thousands Of Miles To Visit Her

Link Jakarta to London

A short story today to illustrate that there are no distance limitations for a dead person - here a father in Indonesia visits his daughter in England following his death.

"Two years ago I was in bed with my husband and my daughter - she always seems to get into our bed in the middle of the night.

"At about 2am, I woke up suddenly as I felt someone watching us. I looked at the door and saw my Dad. He just stood there watching the three of us cuddling each other. He then turned around and I heard his steps on the stairs.

"I got up and followed him downstairs but nobody was there. I put the lights on, made myself a cup of coffee then went to the living room, put the fire on and sat there for an hour or so. I felt confused as my Dad lives in Jakarta and I'm in the UK.

"The phone rang and it was my sister. She told me that my Dad had passed away at 8am Jakarta time. This would have been about 2am in the UK, which was the time I saw Dad in my bedroom."

Paranormal Happenings Witnessed In Indonesia

Ghost playing piano

A paranormal story today from Indonesia. The only thing I would question is how the writer can possibly be a skeptic when he accepts that the goings on he witnessed really happened. If it wasn't paranormal wonder what it was?!

I have had to edit the story slightly to correct some spellings and grammar.

"Wacky stuff happens in Indonesia.

"I remember reading a serious story in the Jakarta Post in 1991 about an increase in Vampire attacks in Tenggareng. I am a skeptic of all things paranormal but I lived in a haunted house in Pondok Indah through the 90's. Anyone in the area back then will know exactly which one it was, though it has been torn down now.

"After eight years of unexplained and strange things happening, we had a guy come over with his brothers from Sumatra to do a furniture deal.

"One brother starts sweating and turns red and looks like he is about to be sick. We asked him if he is alright. He says that someone died in there - and points to a room.

"This was true, the landlords sister died in the room above the garage. His other brother asks if we want to talk to her spirit.

"Hell yes.

"We go to the room and the guy becomes possessed by the spirit and speaks some dialect that his brother translates. She says she wants the room cleared of all the storage and tells us her thoughts on detailed events in our lives over the last near decade.

"She says she will stop making noises and messing with our possessions if we clear out the room, she wants space.

"We cleared the room and never heard the piano play again at night by itself, or experienced the glass perfume or cologne bottles on our bedside tables move into formations, while we listened in bed to the tapping as they moved - yes, this all actually happened.

"Honestly, I don't believe in ghosts, but this stuff happened."

The Ghost Or Spirit That Changed Fern Britton's Life

Fern Britton

It's interesting how we can often recall a time when something completely changed the course of our lives. Some would call this fate, destiny or maybe even just a lucky break. But what if this change came about because of something we had seen such as a ghost or spirit? This is what the UK television presenter, Fern Britton, says changed her life.

Fern was diagnosed with depression in her early 20s and was in a bad place but something came to rescue her and put her on a career path. In her own words:

"I was desperate and, I don't exaggerate, I even started wondering whether I had enough paracetamol  in the cupboard because I was seriously contemplating whether that might be the way to go. I had the weight of the world on my shoulders. I'd come to a dead end.

"All of a sudden, by the side of the bed, I saw a white, glowing shape. That's the only way I can describe it. I couldn't see his features although I sensed it was a man. he then leant forward and put his hand on my forehead and I instantly fell asleep.

"In the morning, I woke and felt different. I knew what to do. I handed in my notice and, within a month, I was on a train to Plymouth to start work at Westward Television. I can't explain what had happened but it was as though there had been some sort of twist of the kaleidoscope.

"I found a house a short walk from the River Tamar, the salmon leaping on a summer's afternoon. I remember thinking, 'Thank you, God, for bringing me this.'"

Something or someone appears to have stepped in to help Fern when it was needed most. I like to believe that this is available to us all.

Joyce Sees Jinn Shadows Or Ghosts

Majlis al Jinn Cave, Oman: Known as the meeting place of the Jinn
Majlis al Jinn Cave, Oman: Known as the meeting place of the Jinn
A strange story from a reader today who wishes to be called Joyce. It's about, well I'm not altogether sure! The story mentions Jinn which, until I read the section copied from Wikipedia, I didn't know much about.

Perhaps someone can throw a few ideas as to what Joyce's shadows actually are. As usual the story has been accepted in good faith.

I read Kate's story on your blog about her ghost and decided to tell my story, but it may not be a ghost.

I see what I call shadows. They mostly aren't any definite shape but I see them whether it's daylight or night time. These shadows make me uneasy when there are on shiny or reflective surfaces. The shapes then appear to be more like people or some sort of being.

I feel that I get some sort of vibration from these shadows, sometimes these feel positive but at other times are negative and a little scary.

I say they are sometimes scary but they have never done me any harm, but sometimes they appear to follow me around which makes me feel uncomfortable, but never really, really frightened.

I've thought that the shadows could be ghosts or the spirits of dead people. If I am with other people and see them they can't. If I ask them if they can see anything they say no. I'm not imagining these things though.

I talked to a Muslim friend and he said they might be Jinn. I'd never heard of such things before so I looked them up on Wikipedia where it says:

"The jinn (Arabic: جن‎ ǧinn, singular جني ǧinnī; also spelled djinn), or genies, are spirits mentioned in the Qurʾān and Islamic theology who inhabit an unseen world in dimensions beyond the visible universe of humans. Together, the jinn, humans and angels make up the three sentient creations of God. The Qurʾan mentions that the jinn are made of a smokeless and 'scorching fire', and they have the physical property of weight. Like human beings, the jinn can also be good, evil, or neutrally benevolent and hence have freewill like humans and unlike angels. The jinn are mentioned frequently in the Qurʾan, and the 72nd surah is titled Sūrat al-Jinn."

What the shadows I see are I don't know but I wish I could stop seeing them especially when I'm on my own. I have said that they have never harmed me but when I see them on reflected surfaces like windows, mirrors or shiny surfaces they feel extra real and give off a vibration that effects my mood and the way I feel.

I hope it doesn't sound like I'm crazy but I really do see these shadows, and they definitely aren't my own.

The Ghostly Nurse Who Took Away Linda's Pain

Old fashioned nurse took the pain away

Sometimes when you meet people and they know you have been in hospital they tend to want to tell you all about their own experiences. Here's one such case with what might be a paranormal twist.

I'll call the woman concerned Linda to protect her privacy.

Linda was in a local hospital for major surgery and wasn't too happy with her care.  She said that the nurses seemed, in the main, to be uncaring and short staffed due to government cuts in funding. I must add that I personally didn't find this to be the case while I was in hospital. Nevertheless this is her story.

Following her surgery she felt a lot of pain for which she was given tablets but this didn't take the hurt away. She complained to the nurses but was seemingly told that they couldn't give her anything stronger.

The pain for her seemed much worse during the night and she says that on the third night in hospital tears were running down her cheeks. She pressed the button for the nurse on duty but felt that she was almost off-hand and lacking sympathy.

Linda says that once alone again the pain was almost too much for her to bare and she remembers saying, "Please help me someone."

A few moments later there was a nurse by her side in a white, almost old fashioned uniform.

The nurse smiled at her and told her that she would be alright and started to hold her hand. This Linda felt to be very comforting and the nurse sat in a chair, which was next to the bed, to stay with her.

After what appeared to be a short time the pain got less and less. Again the nurse told her not to worry and that everything would be alright. Linda eventually dropped off to sleep.

The next morning she felt a lot better and her pain was much, much less. She felt she was on the mend.

When the regular nurse came round as usual with tablets Linda asked her who the other nurse was in the white dress.

The nurse looked at her strangely and said there wouldn't have been a nurse dressed like that and told her the names of the nurses who had been on duty that night. It was suggested to her that Linda must have been dreaming.

Linda is now convinced that, what she calls, a 'ghost' visited her during that night and helped her through her pain.

It's interesting that when we actually ask for help it sometimes appears. In Linda's case was this from an angel, spirit, a relative who has passed on? Who knows for sure and, of course, it may simply have been a dream.

Synchronicity Of Seeing Someone From Beyond The Grave

Gover viaduct Cornwall

When preparing to write this post I realised that the post I had scheduled for my other blog, Coincidence and Synchronicity, for today was titled 'June 23rd Coincidence'. You'll see the significance to this in a moment.

As we often do, my wife and I went for a walk first thing this morning, nothing special just a regular circle. We made our way under the viaduct in the valley where we live and my wife said, "Doesn't that woman in front of us look like mum?" She was referring to my mother and I had also thought the same. For those who may not know my she passed away a few years back.

We carried on walking and somehow couldn't see the woman any more but thought no more about it. We headed down a road overlooking fields ...

... past an old small church and took the road which leads to our local town. Down a narrow path and to our right we saw another lady walking away from us and this time it was me that said to Karin, "Doesn't that woman like mum again?"

St

Walking on, a few minutes later we saw yet another woman and we both laughingly said, "It's mum again!"

Okay, I'm not saying that the three women we saw were my mum as a spirit or a ghost, they were probably simply lookalikes with the same white hair that she had before she died.

But there again, sometimes coincidences are synchronicity and are therefore meaningful. So was there some significance or meaning to us thinking we had seen my mother? I guess that's for us to work out.

Oh, and as for today's post on my other blog, which I mentioned earlier, June 23rd just happens to be my mum's birthday ...
