Messages From The Dead Via White Doves, White Feathers And Butterflies

Following on from all of those other posts about white feathers, white doves and butterflies as witnessed following a loved one departing this world, here are two more readers experiences. Both wish to remain anonymous.

"I lost my mum in 2007, I was with her when she passed away.

A few days later there was a gorgeous white feather on my doorstep. Unsure, I asked my neighbour what this could mean. She told me I had been visited by an angel. The feather is still in my Bible to this day. It's not a seagull feather, nor any other known bird in this area. It's a beautiful white downy fluffy feather and I still have it! xx"

"A few years ago my life changed forever. My husband showed up at my office with tears streaming down his face telling me my brother passed away. I remember him driving me home. We sat outside taking it all in, and waiting on phone calls from other family members to make driving/flying arrangements to his town (10 hours away).

I was beyond devastation when a beautiful butterfly flew directly in between us. It hovered for probably a whole minute, circled around my head and then circled around my husband's head and then flew away.

We were actually crying and laughing, as this was clearly miraculous.

On our very long drive to the funeral I took with me my books on Angels and connecting with loved ones who have passed away.

While engrossed in my book, a few hours into the trip, I was startled by the loudest sound I've ever heard. Something slammed into the windshield - we were travelling at 70 miles an hour.

I asked my husband, "What was that?"

He said (as we were pulling off the highway into a gas station), "A white dove came out of nowhere and hit our windshield!"

The craziest part is it left no blood, no feathers, just this white powder that made the most beautiful image of a perfect angel wing. It was as fine as flour, dusted lightly on our windshield. I actually took my finger and touched it in amazement.

Has anyone else ever been hit by a dove? I'd like to think the dove didn't die but, at 70 mph, how could it not."

He Saw A White Dove As His Brother Died

A story from a reader about his experience of seeing a white dove when his brother died. In his words:

"My brother had a stroke and half of his brain was dead. He had two blood clots, one in his brain and one in his neck. 

The Doctors were unable to do surgery due to it being very dangerous and risky. My brother didn't have a chance at life, we knew he would still soon pass. 

When the day came my mom called me at work and said your brother is taking his last breaths you should get over here. 

So I left work, it's about thirty minute drive. When I got to the freeway exit I saw a beautiful white dove cross my way and it looked like it flew up into the sky. I had a red traffic light so I kept looking for the dove but didn't see it any more. I thought that was weird, then I realized my bother must have passed!" 

I looked at the time and it was 2:12. I later found out that my brother passed at 2:08.

White Doves as Messengers From the Dead

Today two more readers experiences of seeing white doves after someone dies.

(1) This is all for real. When I was a child our across the street neighbour raised white doves. 

When someone died he would offer the family the opportunity to have a dove released. 

Doing this for my dad, at his passing, the dove flew to dad's house and sat on his porch for three days. This was over 20 years ago. 

Now, just last week, my daughter had an experience where her 26 month old baby was in her crib in the morning. My daughter heard her laughing out loud, like the room was filled with clowns. 

Jenn, my daughter, looked in her monitor to see what was up in the baby's room upstairs. On the monitor Jenn saw her baby standing in her crib watching and seemingly moving her head around as if following something. What Jenn saw was a white dove flying around the baby's room entertaining the baby. 

Amazing for sure, but her baby is blind! My mother also lived with blindness for the last 30 years of her life. 

Jen said she was awestruck and absolutely knew that it was Granny. I also have no doubt she is always around me too.

(2) I don't know how to explain what happened when my grandma passed away about a month and half ago. We released some doves at her funeral. For some reason one of the doves flew up on top of the canopy tent that was shading my grandma's burial site.  It just stood there looking at us, 

We tried pushing the bird from underneath the canopy so it would fly away. 

After thinking about it for a minute, I thought that it was my grandma letting me, and everyone, know that she was there in spirit. I have a picture of this which makes me wonder every time I look at it. I wish someone had an answer as to why this happened. 

Anyway, I love you grandma and miss you dearly.

Herons As Messengers From The Deceased

I have written previously that, though coincidence and synchronicity are the most popular themes on this blog, the next most popular are white feathers and white doves - being seen following a loved ones death. Some say that these are 'messages' from those who have died. Today a new one for the collection: herons.

In my first marriage, we had a garden with four acres, and herons used to come to our wildlife pond regularly - we really loved seeing them.

Sadly, my husband and I divorced, but we remained close friends even though we both remarried In 2010, he died quickly of cancer. The next day, as I drove through an estate close by a heron appeared and landed on a roof.

I slowed down and watched it, and it turned and appeared to look at me. It stayed on the roof standing for about five minutes, watching me.

I relayed this to our son and he said a heron had landed in his garden at the same time.

I rang our daughter and she gasped. A heron had landed in her garden also.

We all live a long way away from each other, yet, we all saw a heron at the same time, the day after his death.

Was The White Dove A Messenger From His Dead Father?

One of the most popular themes, on this blog, is how white doves sometimes seem to appear when someone dies. Here is another similar white dove story from Uffe.

"Some time after my father passed away my mother decided to move to a smaller apartment. Myself, and two siblings, helped her and when everything was settled, and she felt comfortable in her new home, my siblings and I left.

Later she told me that after we had left a white pigeon landed on the balcony handle bar. It sat there and after a while my mother opened the balcony door and went out.

The pigeon jumped down to the floor and walked into the apartment. My mother said it walked through every room before it went out and again and settled on the handle of the balcony. It looked at my mother and then flew away, and did not show up again.

I like to think it was my father who wanted to see to everything was all right with my mother's new home."

White Doves Seen Following A Bereavement

Two white dove stories or experiences. The first wishes to remain anonymous. These posts are where readers tell of seeing doves following a loved ones death.

My wife died in hospital following a long illness. As heartbroken as I was it was almost a relief that she was no longer in pain. I hoped beyond hope that she would now be at peace.

The morning after Maggie died I went downstairs to breakfast. I hadn't slept very much and bleary eyed looked out of the window. At that exact moment a beautiful white dove landed on the grass and sat looking at the window. I opened the door to have a better look and I swear that the dove looked at me with a sad expression and then flew away.

That evening the dove returned. I had never seen one in my garden before. Again as I went outside the dove looked at me before flying and circling my house.

On the day of the funeral, there was no dove to be seen until the coffin was being lowered into the ground. I don't know if it was the same one, but it sat on a tree branch, high up, looking at what was happening.

My son says it's simply all a coincidence but I feel deep inside it was Maggie watching over me, signalling she is all right. I hope so.

My nephew passed away this past Tuesday, August 25, 2015 on a motorcycle accident. He was only 25. He was a compassionate and an ambitious young man.

Two days after his passing a white dove appeared in the yard of his parents house and would not leave even when some people tried to get him to fly away. The dove persisted on hanging around his fiancé and appeared when his aunt was praying and calling to him.

We have never seen a dove around our town or city. This is very unusual. We believe this was our nephew's spirit letting us know he is in peace.

The Precognition And How A White Dove Appeared At A Car Accident

Here's another white dove story, with a difference. I feel sure there will be various interpretations as to what happened. Was it precognition, for example, and where does the white dove fit in to the story? Was it significant, or just a coincidence ... well, you decide! The author wished to remain anonymous.

"In 2007 I was in a serious car accident. But for months before, I had this overwhelming feeling that I was going to die in a car accident. This feeling hindered me from going out, other than to work or for food shopping - and then with fear I might add.

I decided to talk to my mother about this feeling and told her that I felt I should prepare myself for death (with a living will).

Mom, with tears in her eyes. told me not to prepare for death but to just try and live.

About two weeks later, in 2007, on my way to work, I was t-boned (a broadside collision).

By coincidence, my neighbour had a conversation with someone about a car accident she was in - and one in which she had t-boned someone (me!).

At this accident she said how she saw a white dove fly off my trunk on contact.

I just spent one day in the hospital, but I did have a skull fracture and bleeding in my brain.

I'm doing great now, almost like nothing had happened and I'm still here ... .thank God."

Robins And Butterflies As Messengers From The Dead

It's interesting by the ways people believe they are contacted by loved ones who have died. On this blog, for example, I have published many such stories where white feathers, white doves and butterflies have supposedly been used to send messages from beyond the grave.

I was thinking about this as another example came to my attention recently, from the actress Amanda Abbington.

When Amanda has to play sad roles she has a method for appearing heartbroken. She thinks about her grandmother. In her own words:

"I think of my grandmother when I'm playing heartbreak. I miss her so much since she died four years ago. She was the most incredible, strong, intelligent, loving woman who was blissfully married to my grandfather for her entire adult life.

For me they were the benchmark of true love.

It might sound mental but I still talk to her every day. We have two robins in the garden who come right up to the kitchen step. I feel sure it's my grandparents paying us a visit."

I can understand how she feels that about her grandparents. We have a robin in our garden and sometimes two. When I'm out there he seems to follow me about. If I'm digging and leave the spade in the ground he'll sit in the handle. If I go from the back to the front garden he'll follow me.

The logical reason for the robin to follow me is because I'm turning over the ground, or cutting the grass and this provides him with insects. But I wouldn't knock Amanda's belief.

My blogging friend Trish of synchrosecrets has written about how straight pins mysteriously appeared following the death of her friend's grandmother. And back in 2011 I wrote about strands of wool which appeared to Leanne after her mother died.

I also published a post giving 22 examples of how the dead may possibly contact us.

Many people will laugh and mock such suggestions, but those who have had such experiences have found comfort from them. You can argue that this still doesn't make them genuine, we tend to cling onto hope wherever possible, but let's at the very least keep an open mind.

Over the years I've had more blog visitors read posts about white feathers and white doves than any other theme. If we do live on after our stint on Earth then, just that fact, must make more things possible than we realise.

67 Not Out Readers White Dove Stories

Two more stories about white doves and how the writers feel they were messengers from someone a loved one who had died. You will find more such stories on this blog.

"My mom passed away May 2014 from cancer.

While she was ill my family and I watched Touched By An Angel every day, sometimes twice daily. For those who are not familiar, its about angels that God sends to earth to help people fix their lives.

This movie always comes on with singing by Della Reese and a lady letting go of a white scarf, which turns into a white Dove.

Sometimes my mom would be sleeping, but when she heard this show coming on she would wake up singing.

My mom passed around 3 am, a day after Mothers Day and 2 days before her birthday.

Later the same day my mom passed away, all of our family were sitting outside in our garage and all over the lawn. The family was just reminiscing.

All of a sudden my daughter and I saw this all white dove flying very low in a circle around the yard. It flew around three consecutive times before it flew across the street and set on a telephone pole facing our house. We knew mom was sending us a message that she was at peace.

That was the most comforting moment of my life."

My brother had been ill for some time and wasn't expected to live very long. On Sunday I drove over to his house to be with him and to give my sister-in-law a break. As I pulled into the drive-way I saw a dove land in the front garden just over from where I was getting out of my car. The dove stayed still and looked at me.

Once out of the car the dove moved to sit on the fence, still facing me and looking at me.

Delia, my sister-in-law, opened the door and was in tears. My brother had died minutes earlier.

Once inside the house I looked out of the window and the dove was still watching us.

Three Doves In The Baby Garden

A short Sunday story from Nikki.

"My grandson was stillborn 1st November last year. We went to the Baby Garden where he is, to do a balloon release today. As we did so three white doves appeared. It was so calming and they sat and watched us, right beside us in the small bird house that's next to where he is. I am not a religious person, but do like to believe there is more once we die.

I believe that the doves represented my Nan and Grandad with Oliver.

I hope so x

The White Dove Was A Messenger From His Deceased Mother

A further white dove story, this time from Greg P.

"My mother passed earlier this year from cancer. I spent the year earlier with her while I finished college. It was a great reconnection because I was always close to my mom and we did a good amount of travelling together. She stayed up many nights with me when I had pressing homework due and discussing everything. I would also take my mother to her doctor appointments and we would always go to lunch afterwards.

However I never cried I guess because I went through her chemo with her! My mother was such a care giver that even on her dying bed she was more concern about us her children than herself.

Long story short, after her passing I dreamt about her twice but on the third occasion it was a replay of her funeral. The following morning while picking up my company vehicle at the lot I started to drive off, when I noticed something white fell off the truck in my rear view.

I pulled over and realized it was a bird. I first thought it was a white pigeon but after a close inspection it wasn't. I instinctively and carefully reached for my cell in order to take a pic. I didn't want to startle it so I took the first shot through the glass. When I noticed it wouldn't fly away I lowered my window and the dove flew towards me as I took another pic then it landed on top of my cab. I jumped out the truck and stared it in the face. The dove stared back and flew away until it was out of sight! The shot I got is a one in a million ..."

White Doves As Messengers From Beyond The Grave

Two more stories today about white doves and how they may be messengers or signs from the deceased. I will let readers reach their own conclusions regarding the stories.

I was interested to read your posts about white doves as they concur with thoughts I have had recently.

In May of this year I heard from my sister-in-law that my brother, Frank, had been taken into hospital following a nasty car accident. It wasn't possible for me to travel to see him until the coming weekend. That same evening, as I was looking out of my lounge window, a beautiful white dove landed on the lawn in my back garden. This was something I had never seen previously and the dove looked like he was looking at me, as I was looking at him.

I went outside and the dove flew up in to a tree and sat there looking down. It impressed me so much I went back indoors to fetch my camera. As I did so the telephone rang. It was my sister-in-law telling me that Frank had just died.

After this I saw, what I took to be, the same dove several times, but no more sightings recently.

I feel sure that the dove was in some way connected to my brother's death.

Peekaboo (my cat) got his terminal illness diagnosis on July 24 and was released from the vets on Friday July 25. This morning, Saturday, was the first time outside for Peekaboo and I since his diagnosis and we went out at dawn (1st light, call to prayer) which we have been doing for the month of Ramadam in solidarity with Muslims murdered around the World.

We went out at dawn (he had trouble going down the stairs) and walked to the front of the house where we heard a bird calling.

We looked over our heads and three white doves were flying above us heading north and one was calling to us and the other two silent.

Evidently the Holy Spirit wants Peekaboo for something.

I've had my doubts about Allah, but a few Summers back when the war on Libya began, four (4) giant tan coloured swans flew over our heads at dawn heading North.

I interpreted this as the the four horsemen of the apocalypse of Revelations (though I'm non-believer in Torah). It appears with the wars that have occurred since that dawn that perhaps the reckoning of 'Revelations' is near.
